That was the last part of its international network without it. In [Delta's announcement](https://news.delta.com/delta-expands-wi-fi-across-asia-pacific-routes-completing-global-connectivity-map) on October 20, the airline says it is now the only global carrier offering free connectivity across its full international network.","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"},{"role":"body","format":"markdown","text":"Earlier this month, Delta said only that the Pacific rollout would begin \"later this month.\" We covered that in [our first story on the plan](https://www.loungefrog.com/news/delta-free-wifi-trans-pacific-rollout-october-2026). Today's release says the service is available now.\n\n## What changes on Pacific flights\n\nDelta says SkyMiles members in every cabin can now get online on its trans-Pacific routes. That covers some of the airline's longest flights, from U.S. hubs to cities such as Seoul and Hong Kong. Once the boarding door closes, members can connect one or more devices. Delta says they can message, email, browse and stream video on their own devices.\n\nThe Wi-Fi is free, but you need a [SkyMiles](https://www.loungefrog.com/programs/delta-skymiles) account to use it. Joining costs nothing, and Delta says you can sign up before you fly.\n\nDelta did not publish a route-by-route list in this release. It also did not give speeds for the Pacific service. If you are counting on Wi-Fi for a work call over the ocean, check the free Wi-Fi label when you book and in your pre-flight messages.\n\n## What else comes with it\n\nThe Wi-Fi sits inside Delta Sync, the airline's onboard portal. Once you log in, Delta says members can read The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal and stream Crunchyroll and Paramount+. Delta notes that some of these partner offers are only for U.S.-based members on flights that start in the U.S.\n\nOn international routes, Delta Sync also carries Sport 24, a live sports channel from IMG. Delta says it shows events such as the NFL, NBA, Formula 1 and Grand Slam tennis. That matters on a long Pacific crossing, when a big game might fall in the middle of the trip.\n\n## The rest of the fleet\n\nDelta says nearly 1,300 of its aircraft now have Wi-Fi. That is more than 95% of its fleet. The gaps left are some Delta Connection regional jets and the Boeing 717. Delta expects the full fleet to be connected by early 2027.\n\nThe airline also says new satellite capacity is entering service across the Americas. It says the extra capacity should help Wi-Fi feel more consistent as demand grows. Delta has logged more than 195 million Delta Sync Wi-Fi sessions since the service launched in 2023, according to the release.\n\nDelta's chief marketing and product officer, Ranjan Goswami, called it \"an important milestone in making the Delta experience more consistent and connected.\"\n\n## How Delta compares\n\nFree Wi-Fi is now a key battleground among U.S. airlines. United is fitting Starlink across its fleet and runs a public tracker of which planes have it, which we covered in [our story on United's Starlink tracker](https://www.loungefrog.com/news/united-starlink-tracker-october-15-2026-status-match-extension). Delta's pitch is coverage: its free service now spans the whole international map, including the Pacific.\n\n## Where to wait before a Pacific flight\n\nFree Wi-Fi in the air takes some pressure off the lounge. You no longer have to clear your inbox at the gate before going offline for half a day. But the lounge still matters on long trips for a real meal, a shower and a quiet seat.\n\nDelta's main Pacific gateways have strong options. In Seattle, the [Delta One Lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/sea-delta-one-lounge) serves eligible Delta One passengers. Los Angeles has two: the [Delta One Lounge in Terminal 3](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/lax-delta-one-lounge) and the [Delta One Lounge in Terminal 2](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/lax-delta-one-lounge-t2). If you are not in Delta One, the [Delta Sky Club](https://www.loungefrog.com/programs/delta-sky-club) network covers every Delta hub, including [Atlanta](https://www.loungefrog.com/airports/atl), [Detroit](https://www.loungefrog.com/airports/dtw) and [Minneapolis](https://www.loungefrog.com/airports/msp).\n\n## How to connect\n\nDelta's steps are simple. Turn on Airplane Mode, then turn Wi-Fi back on. Choose the DeltaWiFi.com network and follow the prompts. If the sign-in page does not load, type DeltaWiFi.com into your browser.\n\nWe will update this story if Delta shares a list of Pacific routes or speeds.","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"}]}
