The service, called Hosts, pairs travelers with a staff member who walks them through check-in, security and border control on the way out, or from the arrival gate to the curb on the way in. It is open to anyone flying internationally through T1, whatever their airline or ticket. The airport announced it in [a release on October 29](https://www.sydneyairport.com.au/corporate/media/corporate-newsroom/a-new-era-of-premium-travel-arrives-at-sydney-airport). Its booking site says the service starts on November 2, 2026.","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"},{"role":"body","format":"markdown","text":"## What you get, and what it costs\n\nHosts comes in three versions: departures, arrivals and transfers. You book online ahead of time. The airport says a host is assigned to each booking and briefed on the itinerary before the trip.\n\nFor departures, the host meets you at an agreed spot, such as T1 check-in or the airport's Premium Valet parking. They stay with you through check-in, security screening and outbound border processing, then take you to your lounge or gate. For arrivals, the host meets you at the aircraft gate. They guide you through immigration and baggage claim, then walk you to a taxi, car or train. Transfer passengers are met and taken to their next flight.\n\nThe [price list](https://premiumservices.sydneyairport.com.au/hosts/fees-charges) on the airport's booking site sets one rate for every journey type:","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"},{"role":"htmltable","html":"<table><tr><th>Service</th><th>Group size</th><th>Price</th></tr><tr><td>T1 arrival or departure</td><td>1 to 4 people</td><td>A$409</td></tr><tr><td>T1 transfer</td><td>1 to 4 people</td><td>A$409</td></tr><tr><td>Extra porter, bags 5 to 8</td><td>per group</td><td>A$219</td></tr></table>","layout":"text"},{"role":"body","format":"markdown","text":"Each group of up to four includes help with four bags and one luggage trolley. A larger party pays another A$409 for each extra group of four. Bookings can be changed or canceled for free until 24 hours before the start time. After that, the airport keeps 70% of the booking. The booking site lists T1 service hours as 3 a.m. to 11 p.m.\n\n## What it does not do\n\nHosts is an escort, not a pass. The booking site does not mention lounge access, and nothing in the release says a host can get you into a lounge your ticket or card does not already cover. It also does not say whether the host can take you through a faster security or immigration lane. The airport says it recently added a separate Fast Track product, but this release does not explain how the two fit together.\n\nThat makes Hosts most useful for people who need help rather than speed. Think first-time visitors, parents with small children and a pile of bags, older relatives flying alone, or anyone with a tight connection in an unfamiliar airport. For a solo business traveler who already knows T1, it is hard to see what A$409 buys.\n\n## Where a host can drop you off\n\nIf your ticket or card does open a lounge door, T1 has plenty of choice. Qantas runs its [First Lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/syd-qantas-first-lounge) and [International Business Lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/syd-qantas-international-business-lounge). Star Alliance travelers can use the [Air New Zealand Lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/syd-air-new-zealand-lounge) or the [Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/syd-singapore-airlines-silverkris-lounge), and SkyTeam flyers have the [SkyTeam Lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/syd-skyteam-lounge). There is also an [Emirates Lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/syd-emirates-lounge).\n\nCard holders have options too. The [Centurion Lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/syd-american-express-centurion-lounge) serves eligible American Express members. The [Plaza Premium Lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/syd-plaza-premium-lounge) takes [Priority Pass](https://www.loungefrog.com/programs/priority-pass) members and pay-at-the-door guests. Plaza Premium also runs an [arrivals lounge](https://www.loungefrog.com/lounges/syd-plaza-premium-lounge-arrivals), which could pair well with an arrival booking after a long night flight.\n\n## More to come\n\nSydney Airport says Hosts is one of a series of paid premium services, and that more will launch over time. Mark Zaouk, its group executive for commercial, said the airport sees \"growing demand for airport services that provide additional support, comfort and convenience.\" For the full picture of the terminal, see our [Sydney Airport guide](https://www.loungefrog.com/airports/syd).","textStyle":"body","layout":"text"}]}
