Belo Horizonte gets a Plaza Premium lounge, but Priority Pass may not get you in
Plaza Premium is building a 100-seat domestic lounge at Confins, the airport's sixth. Reports expect it to follow the Rio and São Paulo model of Visa Airport Companion and DragonPass access, though nothing is confirmed.

Belo Horizonte's Confins airport is getting another lounge. Plaza Premium is building a domestic lounge there, which will make it the airport's sixth. The more useful question for travelers is not what it will look like, but which card will get you in.
What has been announced
According to Melhores Destinos, which reported the project on September 10, construction was due to start in September 2026. The lounge will cover 250 m² and hold up to 100 guests at a time. It will serve domestic flights only and open daily.
No opening date has been given. Aeroportos.org describes rest areas with armchairs, workstations with free Wi-Fi, a buffet and showers in the bathrooms. Neither outlet quotes Plaza Premium or BH Airport directly, so treat the details as reported plans rather than a final spec.
The access question
Here is the catch. Melhores Destinos expects the lounge to accept only Visa Airport Companion and DragonPass, matching how Plaza Premium runs its lounges in Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) and São Paulo (Guarulhos). It also says access methods have not yet been disclosed. That is an expectation, not a confirmed policy.
If it holds, Priority Pass members, including many holders of foreign premium cards, may not be able to use the new lounge. In Brazil, lounge access increasingly depends on the card network and issuer rather than one global membership. A Brazilian Visa Infinite card that includes Visa Airport Companion could be the best way in. A Priority Pass card alone might not be.
A September 16 guide from Cartões e Viagens gives the same advice for every Plaza Premium lounge in Brazil: a lounge appearing in a network's catalog "does not guarantee access." Check the official app before you travel. Walk-in visits are also sold on Plaza Premium's website and at the desk, subject to capacity.
Your options at Confins today
Melhores Destinos counts five existing lounges at CNF: three Ambaar Lounges, the Advantage VIP Lounge and a BRT Lounges site that opened last year.
- Priority Pass members: the Priority Pass listing for the Advantage VIP Lounge shows it open 24 hours, upstairs from boarding gate 2, with a three-hour stay limit. Priority Pass also lists an Ambaar Lounge and the Advantage VIP Lounge with Fast Track.
- DragonPass members: the BRT and Ambaar lounges are worth checking in your app.
- Everyone else: compare a walk-in price with a cafe meal, and with how much time you actually have before boarding.
Our take
More seats are welcome at any busy domestic airport, and 100 more is a meaningful addition. But if the new lounge launches under a restricted access model, it will add capacity for some cardholders and nothing for others.
Before you count on it, wait for Plaza Premium to publish an opening date and the list of accepted programs. Until then, your existing card benefits decide which Confins lounge you can use, so check them before you fly.
