Lounge Frog guide

Extension privacy policy

Last updated October 24, 2026

What the extension does

It scans the text of web pages you visit for airport and airline codes, aircraft names, cruise ship names and loyalty program names, and turns matching references into links to loungefrog.com, seatsfrog.com, cruisesfrog.com and pointsfrog.com. That scanning happens entirely inside your browser. Page content is never sent anywhere.

What it stores

In Chrome's extension storage, on your device only: - the list of airport and airline codes, fetched from the Lounge Frog API so the extension knows which codes have a page; - your on/off preference and per-site opt-outs for linking; - public lounge details, airport coordinates, ship profiles, sailing-specific deck/cabin guides, seat-map diagrams/listings and point values, cached on demand; lounge opening status refreshes about once a minute while results are in use, and other catalogs refresh daily. A failed refresh may use the last cached copy, but expired opening statuses are excluded from Open now results; - your points calculator preferences (program, balance, currency and calculator mode); - your Lounge Frog session token, if you are signed in on loungefrog.com.

Session sharing

When you visit loungefrog.com, the extension mirrors the site's sign-in token into extension storage so the panel can show your profile, and clears it when you sign out from either side. The token is only ever sent to the Lounge Frog API (lounge-frog-api.onrender.com) to load your profile. It is not shared with any other site or third party.

Travel catalogs and exclusions

Ship names, aircraft names and supported airline/aircraft combinations are bundled with the extension. Matching is local; page text is not sent to these sites. Following a generated link visits the destination site normally. Automatic linking is disabled on the four Frog sites, including pointsfrog.com, and their subdomains.

Optional location

Chrome requires geolocation to be declared as an installation permission. The extension reads your location only when you choose “Find nearby lounges”, once per click. Coordinates are used only in panel memory to rank lounges by distance to airport coordinates. They are not stored or sent to the Lounge Frog API or the Frog websites. Your browser and operating system provide location through their own location services. Location is never watched in the background. Denying permission leaves search available. Browser and operating-system location restrictions are respected.

Panel selections

The airport code, airline code or ship slug you click is kept in extension session storage under that tab's ID so the side panel can show your selection. Session storage clears when the browser session ends; full page text and browsing history are not saved. Looking up that airport, airline or ship requests the corresponding public catalog information from the Lounge Frog API.

Account information

If signed in, the panel retrieves and displays your account profile, including information such as your name, home airport, programs and lounge access, from the Lounge Frog API. My access matches that derived access against lounge programs locally; it does not send your memberships to image hosts or booking websites.

Images

Lounge and ship thumbnails, and deck-plan images, load from the public image URLs supplied by the catalogs. Those image hosts receive ordinary image requests, without your Lounge Frog sign-in token or a referring page URL.

What it does not do

No analytics, no tracking, no advertising, no browsing history collection, and no sale or transfer of data to anyone.

Removing your data

Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored. Signing out on loungefrog.com or in the panel clears the token.
