Qantas status is earned on Status Credits over a 12-month membership year, with a minimum number of Qantas-flown sectors, on Qantas, Jetstar and oneworld carriers. Qantas is a oneworld founder, so Gold is Sapphire and Platinum and above are Emerald. Confirm current thresholds on qantas.com.

At the lounge door

No status lounge access. Lounge entry is by cabin, membership, or a card.

2.Silver

oneworld Ruby

How to earn it

300 Status Credits, with 4 Qantas sectors.

What it gets you

Priority check-in and waitlist, an extra bag, a 50% points bonus.

At the lounge door

No status lounge access; Qantas Club membership or a premium ticket opens Qantas lounges. Some domestic lounge passes come with Silver.

3.Gold

oneworld Sapphire

How to earn it

700 Status Credits, with 4 Qantas sectors.

What it gets you

Qantas Club and international Business lounges, priority boarding and security, a 75% bonus.

Qantas Club and Qantas International Business lounges with a guest on same-day Qantas flights, and oneworld business lounges, with one guest, whenever you fly a oneworld carrier the same day, in any cabin.

4.Platinum

How to earn it

1,400 Status Credits, with 4 Qantas sectors.

What it gets you

First lounges, guaranteed seats, a 100% bonus, upgrade priority, and gifted Gold for a nominee.

Qantas First lounges (Sydney, Melbourne, LA, Singapore) with a guest, and oneworld first and business lounges, with one guest, whenever you fly a oneworld carrier the same day, in any cabin.

5.Platinum One

How to earn it

3,600 Status Credits, with 2,700 on Qantas.

What it gets you

Top published tier: personal service, the best upgrade priority, extra lounge guests.

6.Chairman's Lounge

By invitation.

The invitation-only tier: the Chairman's Lounge at major Australian airports and every Platinum One benefit.

Qualification thresholds are the published ones as last checked and change most years; confirm the current numbers with Qantas. Alliance equivalences and the lounge rules that follow from them move far more slowly.
