Disney Cruise Line has shown off its next ship, and it leans hard on some of the biggest films of the past decade. The Disney Believe will set sail on December 18, 2027, from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Disney shared the details on October 7, 2026.
The ship will be the fourth in the Wish class. It joins the Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny. Disney says its fleet will grow to 13 ships in late 2030.
Where the Disney Believe will sail
The Disney Believe will offer four- and five-night trips from south Florida to the Caribbean and The Bahamas. Each trip will stop at one or both of Disney's island spots, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
That makes it a short-trip ship, not a weeklong one.
The first Encanto stage show
The big news is in the Walt Disney Theatre. "Disney Encanto" will be the first stage version of the Oscar-winning film, and it will play only on this ship. The show follows Mirabel as she tries to save her family and their magic home. Disney says it draws on Colombian cultures, with bright costumes and traditional dance. It will include Lin-Manuel Miranda's songs from the film, such as "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Surface Pressure."
Two more shows will join it. "Tangled: The Musical" comes over from the Disney Magic with a new set and special effects made for this ship. "Disney Seas the Adventure," an original Wish-class show, rounds out the lineup.
There is also a new hub called Gazelle, themed to the city in the Zootopia films. By day it hosts trivia, games and character meet-ups. At night it turns into an adults-only space with silent discos and variety acts. For the first time on Disney Cruise Line, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde will star in a family show where guests help them solve a case.
A Frozen dinner and new places to eat
Oaken's Table: A Frozen Family Feast is a new family dining room. Disney calls it a new chapter in the Frozen story. It is set in a summer house courtyard in the forest, with Oaken, Anna and Kristoff on hand, and his cousins playing new takes on the film's songs.
Other food and drink spots include:
- 1923, which returns with more than 1,000 drawings, props and tools from the Walt Disney Archives.
- Worlds of Marvel, with the "Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix" show.
- Inside Out: Joyful Sweets, a paid sweet shop with nearly 20 flavors of gelato and ice cream.
- Two new cafes, Big Hero Sips and Café Kakamora.
- Pluto's Pita Platters, a new Mediterranean food stall found only on this ship.
The central Grand Hall will be themed to Moana, with a statue of Moana and her friends Pua and Heihei.
Adults-only spaces
Adults get their own set of bars and lounges. Sea Notes is a piano lounge based on Ariel's grotto from The Little Mermaid. Wishing Well takes its look from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Skygazers is a pub with a star-gazing theme and live sports. The Haunted Mansion Parlor also returns with a new drinks menu.
The ship will keep Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement, who holds three Michelin stars. Quiet Cove, an adults-only pool area at the back of the ship, also returns, along with a spa and gym.
AquaMouse, kids clubs and a suite in the funnel
The AquaMouse water ride will return. It is 760 feet long and puts riders inside a Mickey Mouse cartoon. Little kids get a Toy Story splash area with a wading pool and a family waterslide.
Disney's Oceaneer Club, for kids ages 3 to 10, will have five themed areas. On this ship its entrance will be themed to Monsters, Inc. Tweens and teens get their own hangouts, Edge and Vibe.
Most cabins will face the sea, and 70 percent will have a verandah. More than 450 cabins will have connecting doors for big families.
The showpiece suite is the Believe Tower Suite. It sits inside the forward funnel and is nearly 2,000 square feet over two floors. It sleeps eight and has two main bedrooms and four and a half bathrooms. Its rooms are themed to the lands of Magic Kingdom Park.
What it means for cruisers
Disney has taken its most popular recent films and built a whole ship around them. With short trips from Fort Lauderdale, the Disney Believe looks aimed at families who want a quick Disney trip. Disney has not shared prices in this release. If you want a cabin in the first season, keep an eye on Disney Cruise Line for booking news.
