Every Amex Platinum holder has a favorite Centurion Lounge and a least favorite one. We wanted to know which ones really earn the hype. So we pulled Lounge Frog's own scores for all 15 full-size Centurion Lounges open in the US right now, plus the small Sidecar in Las Vegas. Philadelphia is left out. Amex closed it on Oct. 16, 2026, for an expansion.
Our editors rate each lounge from 1 to 5 on up to 14 things, from seating and food to Wi-Fi, showers and views. The overall score is the average. Opening hours below come from each lounge's page on thecenturionlounge.com, checked on Oct. 22, 2026.

Salt Lake City has scores on only 6 of our 14 measures so far, so treat its spot as a first look.
DFW is the one to beat
The DFW Centurion Lounge in Terminal D, across from Gate D12, earned a 5 on 13 of its 14 measures. That includes space, quiet, food, showers and Wi-Fi. Its only 4 is for drinks. No other Centurion Lounge in the country comes close to that run of perfect marks.
Atlanta and Denver tie for second. Atlanta's lounge in Concourse E gets a 5 for drinks, food and space. Denver's in Concourse C gets a 5 for drinks, coffee, space and Wi-Fi.
The gap is smaller than you think
Here is the twist. The worst full-size Centurion Lounge in our data still scores 4.5. Only 0.4 points split first place from last. In plain terms, you won't find a bad one. You'll find great ones and very good ones.
LaGuardia and Phoenix share the bottom spot. Both got a 4 for space, drinks and restrooms. Phoenix also has the shortest weekday hours of the group, since it closes at 9 p.m.
Where it feels packed
We score space on how a lounge feels at its busiest. A 5 means it never feels packed, even at peak.
Nine lounges got that 5: Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Houston, JFK, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seattle and Washington Reagan. Five got a 4: Charlotte, LaGuardia, Miami, Phoenix and San Francisco. Salt Lake City has no space score yet.
The Las Vegas Sidecar is the real outlier, with a 3 for space and seating. It is a small spot with room for about 33 people, according to our directory, built for a quick drink rather than a long stay. It still gets a 5 for drinks and service.
Watch the clock
Hours vary more than most cardholders realize. Salt Lake City runs the longest day, from 4:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. Atlanta, Las Vegas and San Francisco all stay open until 11 p.m.
At the other end, Washington Reagan closes at 7 p.m. on Saturdays. Phoenix shuts at 9 p.m. and Houston at 9:30 p.m. If you have a late flight out of one of those airports, plan to eat somewhere else. Our guide to overnight layovers and Centurion Lounges covers what to do when the lounge closes first.
Before you go
Amex changed its guest rules this summer. Read our guide to the Centurion Lounge access rules before you bring anyone along. And if you were counting on Philadelphia, see where to go while it's closed.
Scores change as our editors revisit lounges, so check each lounge's page on Lounge Frog for the latest numbers.
