Lounges
An overnight layover needs an overnight plan. A Centurion Lounge can close before it begins.
Check closing time, onward access and the journey back for your flight. A daytime lounge benefit is not a substitute for confirmed overnight accommodation.

A long connection and an overnight connection are not quite the same planning problem. A lounge can make the evening easier while leaving several hours of the night unaccounted for.
The official JFK Centurion Lounge page lists hours of 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. and places the lounge in Terminal 4. That gives eligible visitors an operating window. It does not create an overnight place to stay.
Draw the night on a timeline
Write the arriving flight, the lounge closing time and the next departure. Include the time needed for border formalities, luggage and the walk to the lounge if those steps apply.
The gap after closing needs its own answer. A comfortable evening meal is useful, but it does not settle where you will spend the rest of the night.
Use the JFK airport directory and Centurion Lounge guide to place the stop. Verify access for the actual itinerary before counting on any part of the visit.
Separate a seat from a bed
If you need overnight accommodation, compare options that explicitly offer it. Check the room hours, check-in process and how you will reach the next flight.
A quiet lounge chair can look appealing after a tiring journey. Its presence does not establish a sleeping-room service, a reservation or permission to remain after closing.
Do not build the plan around an old review showing an empty room late at night. The published hours and the service you can book are more useful evidence.
Check the route out and back
A hotel or other overnight facility may require leaving the secure area. Work out which documents, entry permissions and security steps apply to your own journey before purchasing.
Ask the airline or airport when the departure area is accessible again. Avoid assuming that the morning's lounge opening time is the same as the time you can reach it.
Our landside and airside guide explains the location distinction. Our connection access guide covers a separate credential question.
Give the morning enough space
Working backward from boarding is especially important after a short night. Include transport, security and the walk, then decide whether breakfast in a lounge fits.
A visit that requires getting up much earlier may undo some of the rest you paid for. A simple meal near the gate can be more useful than trying to complete the full lounge routine.
Our opening-hours guide and short-visit guide help you make that choice.
Keep essential items together
If your luggage is checked through, pack the overnight items you need in the bag you retain. Fresh clothes, charging equipment and the travel documents should be easy to reach.
If you use a shower during the evening, follow our shower planning guide. It can improve the connection without changing the lounge's closing time.
Our Terminal 4 lounge comparison helps with the daytime stop. The overnight gap still needs a confirmed plan of its own.
A good layover plan covers every part of the clock. Choose the lounge for the hours it serves and arrange the rest of the night before landing.
