Travelers waiting for the Chase Sapphire Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport are comparing possible opening dates on Reddit. Chase's own directory gives a more limited answer: the LAX location is coming soon.

The official lounge network page confirms the planned location but does not supply an opening date. A date found in a comment or search snippet should not be treated as a booking-ready promise.

What the discussion actually shows

An October Reddit thread includes guesses and frustration about the wait. An earlier discussion with later replies asks the same question.

Those conversations show interest in the project. They do not verify a construction schedule or establish that any particular proposed month is correct. We have not independently inspected the project or obtained a dated opening notice.

It would therefore be misleading to turn a user's estimate into a headline announcing an opening. The useful service to travelers is to distinguish the confirmed project from the date that remains unconfirmed.

Plan the trip with an option that is open

If you are flying soon, make the preflight plan using facilities whose current operation and access you can verify. A future lounge can be a pleasant possibility without being the only place you expect to eat or work.

At LAX, check the terminal and the practical route from your gate. The existence of a lounge somewhere in the airport does not tell you how much of your connection it would take to visit.

If you are considering a different lounge, read its own rules. Eligibility may depend on the card, membership, airline, ticket or guest arrangement. Do not assume the planned Sapphire benefit carries over to another room.

An opening date is only part of the information

Even after a date is announced, travelers will need the hours, entry conditions and any restrictions relevant to their card. A rendering or a “coming soon” label cannot supply those details.

For a family, the guest terms may matter more than the decor. For a short connection, the location and walk may matter more than the menu. Decide which details would change your own plan.

This is also why a future lounge should be only one factor in a card decision. A benefit that cannot yet be used on your actual trips should not be assigned the same value as one you already use.

What would count as a clear update

A dated announcement from Chase, the lounge operator or the airport would be stronger evidence than another unsourced estimate. The live directory changing from a planned location to an operating one would also be useful, especially when paired with hours and entry terms.

Until then, we will keep the status narrow: planned, with no opening date confirmed on the directory checked for this story.

See the LAX airport guide for context and verify any alternative directly before travel. We reviewed the original Reddit conversations as selected online reactions, not a representative measure of cardholder opinion. Their enthusiasm and impatience are real expressions; they do not make the guessed dates official.
