MSC Cruises has pulled back the curtain on the shows coming to its newest ship. MSC World Asia will have six big stage shows, a live Queen tribute with a 36-piece orchestra on film, and 33 musicians playing every day. MSC shared the lineup on October 7, 2026.
The ship starts sailing the Mediterranean on December 4, 2026.
A new flagship for MSC
MSC World Asia is the third ship in MSC's World Class series. MSC says the series celebrates the world's continents and oceans. This ship will have small design touches that reflect Asia's culture, art and landscapes.
MSC says the ship will have 13 brand-new experiences and redone spaces compared with MSC World Europa, the first World Class ship. Shows and fun will run across the World Theatre, the Panorama Lounge, Luna Park, The Harbour and the new Clubhouse.
Six stage shows
The ship will have six theater-style shows in total. Three of them are new shows for the World Theatre. There is also a brand-new live music show in the Panorama Lounge.
Here is what MSC has shared about the World Theatre lineup:
- A show set in La NoTte. Made with the creative firm Only Child, it invites guests into a home "frozen in time." Music, dance and film-style effects tell the story of a night that "refuses to fade."
- A show about the senses. Made by the production company tbi "The Big Idea," it uses music, movement and circus acts to bring sight, sound, touch, taste and smell to the stage.
- Ritmo Divino. Made with 2 Creative Entertainment, it mixes Flamenco with a modern take on Spanish folk tales. It tells the story of a young Flamenco dancer and a bold matador in a love affair "destined for tragedy."
- Hall of Fame. MSC says it is bringing this signature show to the Mediterranean "by popular demand." It is a live concert that feels like a music award show and honors famous artists.
Big music in the Panorama Lounge
The Panorama Lounge gets two music shows.
The first is a new show built around pop and dance hits. It mixes a recorded orchestra of dozens of musicians with live singers, a live band, high-energy dance and aerial acts.
The second is a guest favorite that returns: a tribute to the greatest hits of Queen. It pairs a 36-piece orchestra, filmed just for MSC, with a live rock band, singers, dancers and acrobats.
33 musicians every day
Live music is a big part of the plan. MSC says 33 musicians will play every day in many spots around the ship. That includes musicians who walk around the ship, solo artists, live bands and MSC's dueling pianos.
Steve Leatham, MSC's vice president of entertainment, said guests "will discover unforgettable experiences for every age and taste."
Where the shows are made
MSC recently opened MSC Creative Studios in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is a building just for making and rehearsing shows. Stephanie Jansen, a senior director for creative and theater shows at MSC, said the team picked "leading creative talent" for the new shows. She said MSC wants shows that "stand alongside the very best live entertainment experiences anywhere in the world."
Where MSC World Asia will sail
From December 4, 2026, MSC World Asia will offer seven-night trips in the Mediterranean. Ports include:
- Barcelona, Spain
- Marseille, France
- Genoa, Italy
- Civitavecchia, Italy, for Rome
- Messina, Italy
- Valletta, Malta
What it means for cruisers
If you like a big night out on your cruise, MSC is betting big on this ship. Three new stage shows, a returning Queen tribute and 33 daily musicians is a lot of choice for one week at sea. MSC did not share show times, prices or whether any shows need a booking. Check with MSC before you sail if you want to see a show on a set night.
