Oceania Cruises is about to do something it has never done before: keep a ship in the Mediterranean all winter long. The luxury line said on October 1, 2026, in its announcement, that Oceania Allura will sail its first-ever full winter season there. It is part of a new batch of 2027 and 2028 Europe trips.
A first full winter in the Mediterranean
Oceania Allura will sail 17 trips from November 2027 through March 2028. They run from nine to 26 days. The ship will sail between places such as Barcelona, Rome, Athens and Istanbul.
Oceania pitches these as shoulder-season trips. That means cooler weather and a slower pace on shore. The line mentions quiet piazzas, artisan markets and slow afternoons in town.
"Europe is one of the most beloved cruise regions, and we are thrilled to offer our guests year-round opportunities to sail with us," said Jason Montague, Oceania's chief luxury officer.
Six trips Oceania picked out
Oceania named these trips as highlights:
- Atlantic Wine Trails: 10 days from Lisbon to London, leaving April 24, 2027, on Oceania Insignia. Stops include Oporto, La Coruña, Bilbao and Biarritz, an overnight in Bordeaux, then Saint-Malo and St. Peter Port in Guernsey.
- Mysteries of History: nine days from Rome to Istanbul, leaving May 24, 2027, on Oceania Sirena. Stops include Salerno, Messina, Syracuse, Katakolon, Gythion, Mykonos, Skiathos and Çanakkale, the gateway to ancient Troy.
- Glacial Adventure: 13 days from Copenhagen to Reykjavik, leaving July 26, 2027, on Oceania Marina. It visits Gothenburg and Oslo, Norway's coast and fjords, Tórshavn, and three ports in Iceland before Reykjavik.
- Croissants & Cannoli: 10 days from Barcelona to Rome, leaving September 16, 2027, on Oceania Nautica. It pairs the French Riviera with Corsica, Sardinia and southern Italy.
- Warm Winter Wonderland: 12 days from Athens to Barcelona, leaving December 8, 2027, on Oceania Allura. It runs from Cyprus and the Greek islands to Malta, Sicily, Sardinia and the Balearic Islands.
- Iconic Art & Architecture: nine days round trip from Rome, leaving January 31, 2028, on Oceania Allura. It visits Porto Torres, Palma de Mallorca, Tunis, Trapani, Valletta, Messina and Salerno.

Big names and hidden gems
Oceania says its trips mix big capitals like Rome, Paris, London, Barcelona and Istanbul with smaller spots. It names Golfo Aranci in Sardinia, Gythion and Skiathos in Greece, Kotor in Montenegro, and Taranto in Puglia.
Some trips also include overnight or longer stays, in places like Bordeaux, Hamburg and Florence/Pisa/Tuscany. That gives guests more time ashore.
Food is the point
Oceania calls its food "The Finest Cuisine at Sea." In the Adriatic and Ionian, guests can book Culinary Discovery Tours. These trips visit local markets and family-run producers, then end with a lunch led by a chef. The line also offers small-group shore trips across Europe.
Who these trips suit
Oceania's ships are small and adults-only, according to the line. They call at more than 600 ports in more than 100 countries. The line also has five new Sonata Class ships on order, due in 2027, 2029, 2032, 2035 and 2037.
What it means for cruisers
If you want to see the Mediterranean in cooler weather and at a slower pace, Allura's winter season is built for you. You will trade beach weather for cooler days on shore. The release does not list prices. You can see more on Oceania's line page on Cruise Frog.
