Porter will fly London, Ont., to Halifax, Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa and Montreal from April 2027

Five year-round routes from London International start in spring 2027, plus a new Air Creebec deal for the north. Porter has no lounges, so here is where to wait.

Porter Airlines is growing in London, Ontario. The airline says it will launch five year-round nonstop routes from London International Airport (YXU) next spring. The new flights go to Halifax, Vancouver, Edmonton, Ottawa and Montreal's new Metropolitan Airport (MET).

London has long been a small airport. Most people in southwestern Ontario drive to Toronto Pearson to fly anywhere far. This plan gives them a direct way to reach both coasts without that drive.

The routes and start dates

Porter announced the routes on October 6. Four begin on April 12, 2027, and the Edmonton route follows on May 6. Peak frequencies, per the airline:

  • London–Halifax: Embraer E195-E2, up to 7 flights a week, from April 12
  • London–Vancouver: Embraer E195-E2, up to 11 a week, from April 12
  • London–Edmonton: Embraer E195-E2, up to 7 a week, from May 6
  • London–Ottawa: Dash 8-400, up to 20 a week, from April 12
  • London–Montreal (MET): Dash 8-400, up to 20 a week, from April 12

Ottawa and Montreal will each see up to three round trips a day. Porter pitches that schedule at business travelers who want to fly out and back in one day. The longer flights to Halifax, Vancouver and Edmonton use the E195-E2 jet.

All five routes are on sale now through Porter's website and travel agents. They join the winter sun flights Porter already announced from London to Florida, Mexico and Jamaica.

What the flights are like

Porter's two aircraft types share one selling point: no middle seats. The E195-E2 is set up two-by-two, and so is the turboprop Dash 8-400. On a cross-country run from London to Vancouver, that is worth knowing.

Fares come in two families. PorterReserve adds extra legroom, two checked bags, and dedicated check-in and boarding. PorterClassic lets you add extras one at a time. Porter does not run its own airport lounges, so neither fare comes with a lounge visit.

Where to wait at each end

Lounge Frog does not list a lounge at London International, so plan to wait at the gate there. The other end is a different story.

Montreal Metropolitan is a new airport that Porter began serving in June. Lounge Frog has no lounge listed there yet.

A second deal: Air Creebec

A day after the London news, Porter added a partner. On October 7, it announced an interline deal with Air Creebec, the airline owned by the Cree Nation. Air Creebec serves 16 places in Quebec and Ontario.

The two airlines connect in Montreal (YUL) and Timmins, Ontario. Through Montreal, Porter flyers can reach Saguenay, Chibougamau and Val-d'Or in Quebec. Through Timmins, they can reach Attawapiskat and Moosonee in northern Ontario. Timmins also links to Porter's network at Toronto's Billy Bishop airport.

You can book trips on both airlines as one ticket through either airline's website or a travel agent. Porter says those combined trips are for travel from October 21, 2026.

Why it matters

Both moves push Porter beyond its Toronto base. London gets year-round Porter nonstops to both coasts. Remote northern towns get a simpler way to book through to the rest of the country.

For lounge-minded flyers, the catch is the same as on any Porter trip. The airline sells a good seat but no lounge. If you want one, you will need Priority Pass or a similar program, and only some of these airports can use it.
