SAS says all 81 aircraft in its Airbus A320neo fleet now have Starlink installed. The September 1, 2026, announcement marks the first complete aircraft-type rollout in the airline's fleet.

EuroBonus members can use the service free through SAS's partnership with 3, according to the airline. The milestone makes connected flights more common across its European network, but it does not mean every SAS aircraft has Starlink.

What the completed rollout covers

In the official release, SAS says its A320neo fleet represents about 70% of its total fleet and operates a large share of its Scandinavian and European services.

That percentage describes aircraft, not the share of flights or passengers receiving Wi-Fi. Aircraft fly different schedules, and the release does not give a network-wide daily departure percentage.

SAS says the rollout began in March and took six months. It describes each installation as including testing and approval before the aircraft returned to service.

The airline also says preparations are progressing for the remaining aircraft types, with more installations planned before the end of 2026. It does not give a complete delivery timetable for every type or promise that all long-haul services are already connected.

Membership is part of the free service

The release identifies EuroBonus membership as the condition for free access. It does not say an elite tier is required.

If you want to use the Wi-Fi, make sure you can access your membership details before departure. Having the account ready is more useful than trying to recover a login after boarding.

SAS describes gate-to-gate connectivity and the ability to work, browse, stream or stay in touch. Those are the airline's stated uses. The release does not provide a guaranteed speed for each passenger, device or flight.

For work that needs a firm deadline, keep a downloaded copy of essential files. The availability of onboard internet improves options, but a particular connection should not be treated as an assured substitute for ground access.

Check the aircraft on the actual booking

An A320neo-heavy network makes this milestone relevant to many European passengers. It still helps to inspect the equipment shown for the booked flight and check any later airline updates.

An aircraft assignment can change. The fact that a route often uses an A320neo does not guarantee the type on every departure, especially when operations change.

For a multi-flight trip, consider each leg separately. A connected Scandinavian feeder does not establish the service on a long-haul continuation.

Lounge Frog's airport guides for Copenhagen, Stockholm Arlanda and Oslo can help plan the ground portion of that journey.

Wi-Fi and lounge entry are separate benefits

EuroBonus membership sufficient for the stated free Wi-Fi offer should not be confused with lounge eligibility. The announcement does not add a lounge visit for every member.

For a connection, the directory includes the Copenhagen SAS Lounge, Stockholm SAS Lounge and Oslo SAS Lounge. Check the current SkyTeam access conditions, your tier and the flight involved before planning entry.

That separation is useful when comparing an ordinary economy ticket with a premium fare. Free internet on an equipped flight is one product feature; bags, flexibility and airport access are others.

The completed A320neo rollout is a substantial step for SAS's European operation. For the traveler, the clearest plan is to have a EuroBonus account ready, check each flight's aircraft and keep essential work available offline.
