Travelers leaving Lima on international flights have a new lounge to try. Airport Dimensions, which runs The Club lounges, has opened a second The Club for international departures at Jorge Chávez International Airport. It is the company's third lounge at the airport, after its existing international and domestic rooms.

The details are in Airport Dimensions' announcement, posted on Oct. 1.

Who can get in

The access rules are the main reason this lounge matters. Airport Dimensions says the new lounge is open to Priority Pass and LoungeKey members, whatever airline or cabin they fly. You can also buy a day pass online through The Club's website.

That makes it useful for a large group of travelers. Many premium credit cards include Priority Pass, and many bank cards outside the US come with LoungeKey. In Lima, the main airline lounge, the LATAM Lounge, is tied to LATAM tickets and status. A card-based lounge with this much room gives everyone else a real choice.

Airport Dimensions has not shared guest fees in its release. Priority Pass's own listing for the lounge, which it calls The Club LIM - Gate D, says members may bring guests. It puts the lounge on the mezzanine of the international pier near the D gates, after security and passport control. That listing also gives hours of 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily, and a three-hour limit on stays. Guest charges depend on your card's own rules, so check those before you go.

What is inside

The new lounge covers 1,311.5 square meters, or about 14,100 square feet. Airport Dimensions says it can hold 374 guests at once. The space is split into areas to rest, areas to work, and a children's zone for families.

Food is a buffet with both Peruvian and international dishes. The company says chef Ignacio Barrios created two signature dishes for the menu. It also promises a premium drinks list, though it did not name brands.

The design is meant to take guests from the Pacific coast to the foothills of the Andes. Airport Dimensions says it used natural textures and local design touches to reflect Peru's geography.

How it fits in at Lima

Lima is now Airport Dimensions' most complete airport anywhere, according to the company. Besides its three lounges, it runs Sleepover, a sleep-pod service, and Priority Lane, a fast-track security option, at Jorge Chávez. The company says its Lima lounges have already welcomed more than one million guests. It expects the airport to handle 26.5 million passengers by the end of this year.

Before this opening, Priority Pass members had two The Club options. The Club LIM (International) is one of the better-rated card lounges in the region, with four showers and a cocktail bar. The Club LIM (Domestic) serves flights within Peru. Both take Priority Pass and LoungeKey.

The new room should ease crowding at the first international lounge at busy times. Airport Dimensions did not say whether the new lounge has showers. If a shower before a long flight matters to you, the original international Club is the safer bet until that is clear.
