Stockholm Arlanda is not a great airport to be hungry in. One lounge serves a proper meal. The other seven we score all land on a 3 or a 2 for food, which in our scale means buffet staples rather than fresh, varied cooking. That makes this list lopsided, and it is worth saying so up front.

The scoring, and why the gap is so wide

Food is rated 1 to 5 on whether a lounge serves real meals, fresh and varied. Lounges are sorted by that score first and by overall rating second, with closed rooms and thinly rated ones excluded. Our methodology has the full rules. At Stockholm Arlanda, that means a single 5 and then a pack of 3s separated only by their overall averages.

The one real restaurant

American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof takes the only 5. It is a restaurant-style card lounge upstairs in the Terminal 5 Marketplace between piers E and F, renovated in 2024, with a full bar and no showers. Table-service dining by the chef it is named for is the point, and the kitchen stops taking orders at 19:00, half an hour before the lounge closes. Service also scores a 5. Overall it rates only 3.9, dragged down by a 2 for views and a 3 for crowding and workspace, which tells you it is a place to eat rather than to work.

The pack at 3

SAS Lounge is second with a 3 for food and 3.5 overall. It is the former Gold Lounge upstairs at gate E1 in Terminal 5, with a self-serve bar and a hot and cold buffet. SAS merged its Gold and Business lounges into this one room in October 2025, and crowding now scores a 2.

SAS Lounge by Mastercard is third, 3 for food and 3.3 overall. It opened in 2025 near gate F26 in Pier F, self-serve bar, no showers, with a breakfast buffet designed with Scandic Hotels.

Aspire Lounge (Non-Schengen) is fourth at 3 and 3.1 overall. It is the only lounge past passport control in Terminal 5, with a full bar; showers cost extra. Aspire Lounge (Schengen), by gate E1 with an in-house kitchen and a cocktail bar, is fifth on identical numbers. Pearl Lounge Terminal 2 also rates a 3 for food but 3.0 overall, and Pearl Lounge Gate C37 drops to a 2.

What to do with this

If you hold an eligible American Express card and are flying Schengen from Terminal 5, go to the Pontus Frithiof lounge and eat before 19:00. If you are not, the honest answer is that no lounge here will feed you well, and the choice between the SAS rooms and the Aspire rooms comes down to access and gate rather than food. Nothing in this list is worth a long walk for the menu alone.

Getting into the top pick

Access is through the Centurion Lounge program listing, but note this is an Amex-branded lounge, not a Centurion Lounge: American Express Platinum and Centurion card members departing Arlanda, with one guest for Platinum and two for Centurion. There is no paid entry.
