A short list, and why
Lounge Frog has nine lounges on file in Sweden, across Stockholm Arlanda and Gothenburg Landvetter. Malmö and Bromma have none recorded. This list includes only lounges with at least one photo, ranked by overall rating, which leaves three. The SAS lounges at Arlanda Terminal 5 and Gothenburg, and the Aspire and Pearl lounges in Terminal 5, are all missing photos. When those arrive the list will grow. The ratings also tell a story. Nothing in Sweden scores above 3.9, and the two pay-in lounges sit at 3.0. Set your expectations accordingly.
1. American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof, Stockholm Arlanda
American Express Lounge by Pontus Frithiof is the clear leader at 3.9. It is in Terminal 5, airside in the Schengen area before passport control, upstairs in the Marketplace between piers E and F. It was redone in 2024 and covers about 700 square meters. The draw is table-service dining from chef Pontus Frithiof, which scores a 5 along with cleanliness and service. The full bar is a step up from the self-serve drinks in the SAS lounges next door. The kitchen stops taking orders at 19:00 and the lounge closes at 19:30, so late flights miss out. Views score a 2 and workspace a 3, so it is a place to eat rather than to work.
Access is narrow. It is for American Express Platinum and Centurion card members departing Arlanda, with one guest for Platinum and two for Centurion. It is an Amex-branded lounge, not a Centurion Lounge, and there is no paid entry. If you hold the card, it is worth going out of your way. If you do not, there is no way in.
2. Pearl Lounge Terminal 2, Stockholm Arlanda
Pearl Lounge Terminal 2 scores a flat 3.0 across the board, with Wi-Fi the only 4. It is airside in Terminal 2 after security. Turn left past duty free and go one level up by the staircase. Non-Schengen passengers use it before passport control, and arriving Schengen passengers can use it too. It runs in partnership with Plaza Premium and serves a buffet with hot and cold dishes, draft beer and wine from a full bar. Open 4:45 to 21:00. Priority Pass, LoungeKey and DragonPass get you in, and walk-in passes start at 440 SEK. There is a smart casual dress code and no shorts. It is fine for an hour. It is not a reason to arrive early.
3. The Lounge by Menzies Aviation, Gothenburg
The Lounge by Menzies Aviation is the former Vinga Lounge, one level up above gate 18 in the Schengen transit hall. Go left past duty free and right at O'Learys. It also scores 3.0, with food a 2 and views a 4, since it looks out over the apron. Beer and house wine are free; other drinks may cost extra. Open from 4:30 most days, closing at 20:15 on weekdays and 18:15 on Saturdays. Priority Pass and LoungeKey members get in with a three-hour limit. Walk-in starts at 395 SEK. Children two and under are free. Non-Schengen passengers can use it before passport control. For a Gothenburg departure it is the only lounge choice outside the SAS lounge, so the question is only whether a pass is worth 395 SEK. With a long wait and a Priority Pass in hand, yes. Otherwise, probably not.
What is missing
The lounges that could change this list are the SAS Lounge in Arlanda Terminal 5, rated 3.5, and the SAS Lounge by Mastercard at 3.3. Both are SkyTeam lounges now, after the airline switched alliances, and both lack photos. SAS has also announced a large new flagship at Copenhagen for 2027, which we covered in our story on the Copenhagen lounge. That may shift where Scandinavian flyers choose to connect. For now, the honest advice for Sweden is this. If you have an Amex Platinum, use the Pontus Frithiof lounge and eat there. Otherwise, a good restaurant in Terminal 5 may serve you as well as any lounge here.
