The 5 best lounges for quiet at HKG

Why quiet is the hard metric here

Quiet measures whether a room is calm enough to work, read or nap, and in Hong Kong it barely separates anyone. Eight open lounges at Hong Kong International score the maximum 5. Four more score 4. So this list is really sorted by overall rating among the lounges that nail quiet, which is the tiebreak rule in our methodology.

That matters for how you read it. The lounge in fifth is not noisier than the one in first. It just does less well elsewhere.

The five

Plaza Premium Lounge (Gate 35) is first with a 5 for quiet and a 4.8 overall. It is a full-bar lounge with four showers on Level 6 of Terminal 1, and it also takes a 5 for crowding, which is the other half of a peaceful visit. Open 06:00 to 01:00.

Emirates Lounge is second, quiet 5 and 4.7 overall. It is a 132-seat airline lounge beside gate 40, renovated in 2024, with a full bar and four showers. It only opens from 15:40, so it is useless for a morning departure.

Plaza Premium Lounge (Gate 60) is third on the same numbers, quiet 5 and 4.7 overall, and runs 24 hours in the West Hall. Full bar, four showers, 200 seats.

The Centurion Lounge is fourth, also quiet 5 and 4.7 overall, with craft cocktails and four showers near gate 60. Cathay Pacific The Deck takes fifth with a 5 for quiet and 4.6 overall, though The Pier (Business), The Wing (First) and the Qantas lounge all post identical numbers.

What the pack behind tells you

The Pier (Business) seats 800 and still rates a 5 for quiet, which says something about how much room there is. The Pier (First) and the SilverKris Lounge each drop to a 4, as do Plaza Premium Lounge (Gate 1) and the United Club. None of those is a loud room. But if you have a conference call, the four at the top of this list are safer bets.

Where they are

All five are in Terminal 1. Gate 35 sits roughly mid-concourse; the Gate 60 pair and the Deck's neighbours are in the West Hall, reached by the people mover. Nothing on this list requires a terminal change.

Getting into the Gate 35 lounge

Priority Pass, LoungeKey, DragonPass and Plaza Premium members all get in, and walk-up entry is sold by the hour. For the overall picture see the 5 best lounges at HKG, and for other airports, the best lounges for quiet everywhere.
