Worth knowing before you walk over

Showers are scored on whether they are clean and free without a long wait, not on how many there are. At Munich Airport seven open lounges take the top mark of 5, so the list below is sorted by overall rating among them, per our methodology.

Emirates Lounge leads with a 5 for showers and 4.9 overall. It is an 80-seat full-bar lounge on level 04 of the new Terminal 1 A pier, non-Schengen, with two showers. It only opens around the Emirates departures, in two windows, late morning and evening.

Lufthansa First Class Lounge matches that at 5 and 4.9. It opened in 2003 in the Terminal 2 main building and was renovated in 2025, with craft cocktails and four showers. Entrances are near gate G21 on level 4 and gate H21 on level 5.

Lufthansa First Class Lounge (Satellite) is third on the same numbers, opened in 2016 in the Terminal 2 satellite near gates K11 and L11, with a full bar and one shower.

Lufthansa Business Lounge (G), opposite gate G28 with six showers and a beer-and-wine bar, is fourth at 4.7 overall. Lufthansa Senator Lounge (G), which shares its entrance and also has six showers, is fifth at 4.6; the Senator Lounge in the K/L satellite posts identical numbers.

Where that leaves you

Everything but the Emirates room is in Terminal 2 or its satellite. The G-gate pair is the practical choice for Schengen flights with status.

Getting into the Emirates Lounge

Entry is through the Emirates Lounge program: first and business passengers, Skywards Gold and Platinum, plus Qantas Gold and Platinum. Both Lufthansa First Class Lounges are premium-cabin and airline elites only. See also the 5 best lounges at MUC and the best lounges for showers everywhere.
