JetBlue is reshaping its TrueBlue loyalty program for 2027, and the headline change is one its elite members have wanted for years: free upgrades. Starting February 1, 2027, every Mosaic level can get a complimentary, space-available upgrade to BlueFirst, the airline's new domestic first class. JetBlue announced the changes on October 22.
For lounge fans, the quieter news sits in the menu of milestone rewards. A single BlueHouse lounge pass is now one of the perks members can pick at every Mosaic level, and Mosaic 4 members can give away a full BlueHouse membership.
Upgrades for every Mosaic level
The upgrade benefit covers Mosaic 1 through Mosaic 4. It also extends to one companion on the same reservation, which matters for couples and colleagues who fly together.
There are limits. JetBlue says upgrades depend on availability and apply only to eligible fares. Main Base and EvenMore Base fares, the stripped-down options, do not qualify. BlueFirst itself is still new and may be offered only on select flights or dates. The release does not say when upgrades clear or how JetBlue ranks members on a waitlist, so expect those details closer to launch.
Holders of the JetBlue Premier Card can also get space-available upgrades when they book an eligible fare with the card. That brings JetBlue closer to how Delta, United and American have long handled domestic first class for their elites and cobrand cardholders.
BlueFirst went on sale earlier this month for flights from December 8, so the upgrade program will start about two months after the cabin enters service.
Mint and BlueFirst certificates
JetBlue is renaming its Move to Mint certificates. They become Premium Upgrade Certificates and can be used for either Mint, the airline's lie-flat business class, or BlueFirst. Members at Mosaic 2, 3 and 4 can choose one as a milestone perk, and Mosaic 4 members earn more certificates for every 100 extra tiles.
Where the lounge passes fit
Perks You Pick lets members choose one reward each time they hit a milestone. From February, the menu looks like this:
| Level | Points bonus | Lounge perk | Other picks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mosaic 1 | 10,000 | One BlueHouse pass | Tile bonuses |
| Mosaic 2 | 10,000 | One BlueHouse pass | Upgrade certificate |
| Mosaic 3 | 20,000 | One BlueHouse pass | Upgrade certificate |
| Mosaic 4 | 30,000 | Pass, or gift a membership | Gift Mosaic 3 status |
Members get 60 days to choose after each milestone. They can also pick the same favorite perk again at later milestones instead of using each option only once. That means a member who values lounge time could, in principle, stack several BlueHouse passes across a year.
The lounge pass is a pick, not a bonus. Choosing it means giving up a points bonus or an upgrade certificate at that milestone. Mosaic 1 to 3 members should weigh one visit against 10,000 or 20,000 points.
Mosaic 4 members already get into BlueHouse free with a guest under JetBlue's current rules, as our TrueBlue program page shows. For them, the new option is the gift: a BlueHouse membership they can hand to someone else.
Where BlueHouse is
JetBlue runs two BlueHouse lounges today. The first opened at New York JFK Terminal 5, with a cocktail bar and showers. The second is at Boston Logan, which opened with free entry for Mint passengers. Since then, JetBlue has opened both lounges to every Mint passenger, not only those flying abroad.
With only two locations, a BlueHouse pass is most useful for members based in New York or Boston. Members flying from Fort Lauderdale or Orlando will find no BlueHouse there.
Bigger card rewards at the top
The Premier Card changes are aimed at Mosaic 3 and 4. JetBlue says those cardholders will earn a total of 5 points per dollar at grocery stores and restaurants, on up to $50,000 a year. They can also choose a companion travel statement credit of up to $500 at Mosaic 3 or up to $1,500 at Mosaic 4. That perk is for primary cardmembers only. Lower Mosaic cardholders can gift tile bonuses or Mosaic status to another member.
Before members reach Mosaic, smaller perks remain on offer, such as early boarding, priority security, a free drink or bonus points on the next flight.
What to do now
Nothing changes until February 1, 2027. JetBlue says full terms will appear on its TrueBlue site before then. If you are close to a Mosaic milestone, think about which perk you will want once the new menu is live, and whether a lounge pass at JFK or Boston is worth more to you than points.
