Long layover in Mumbai and no lounge that fits? Navi Mumbai's new airport now has a hotel inside the terminal, and you can book it for just four hours.
Adani Airport Holdings has opened Swirl Transit Hotel at Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMI). It has 80 rooms on two floors, on the Arrivals Level of Terminal 1, according to Adani's Oct. 6 announcement. The company pitches it at people with long layovers, early flights, late arrivals and short stays.
What you get
Guests can book a four-hour stay or a full night. Adani lists six room types, from 130 to 410 square feet:
- Superior Single, Double and Twin
- Superior Accessible
- Junior Suite
- Executive Suite
Rooms come with high-speed Wi-Fi, smart TVs, a work desk, a safe, tea and coffee, and in-room dining. Adani also lists express laundry, a concierge, 24-hour housekeeping, wake-up calls and pick-up and drop services.
For food, there is a 24-hour restaurant with 40 seats, grab-and-go options and a bar. Showers are part of the offer, too.
What Adani has not said
The release leaves out the things a traveler most needs to know. It gives no prices for the four-hour or overnight stays. It does not say how to book. It also does not say whether the hotel is inside security. The hotel sits on the Arrivals Level, so check before you count on it for a connection.
It also says nothing about lounge programs or credit cards. Nothing in the release suggests Priority Pass or a card benefit covers a stay, so plan to pay unless Swirl says otherwise.
Why a transit hotel can beat a lounge
A lounge is great for two hours. It is not great for eight. Many lounges limit how long you can stay, and very few offer a real bed.
A room with a door that locks fixes all of that. You can sleep, shower when you want and work at a desk without someone's phone call in your ear. For a red-eye arrival or a dawn departure, a four-hour block may be worth more than any lounge pass. Whether it is worth it depends on the price, and Adani has not shared it yet.
That gap matters at Navi Mumbai in particular. The airport opened on Dec. 25, 2025, and started international flights on July 15, 2026, Adani says. Lounge Frog does not yet list any lounges there. For now, a transit hotel may be one of the few ways to rest in comfort at NMI.
Why this could matter more soon
Navi Mumbai may soon get a lot busier. On Oct. 3, Adani said it will start rebuilding part of Mumbai airport's old Terminal 1 in January 2027. It has offered airlines the option to move flights to Navi Mumbai while that work goes on. A proposal to shift 265 weekly international flights there by Oct. 25 has been put on hold after airlines objected, as Business Standard reported. If more flights do move, more travelers will be looking for somewhere to wait at NMI.
Next stop: Guwahati
Adani plans to roll out Swirl at other airports it runs. The next one is a 21-room hotel at Guwahati's Lokpriya Gopinath Bardoloi International Airport. Adani says it will sit on Level 3 of the Arrivals area of Terminal 2, inside the secure zone. It will offer hourly and overnight stays, plus dining. Adani has not given an opening date.
Adani runs eight airports in India, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Guwahati. In our directory, its Adani Lounge East and domestic Loyalty lounge at Mumbai rate 4.6 and 4.8 out of 5. See them on our Mumbai Terminal 2 page.
Our take
This is a smart add for a new airport. A bed by the hour is a real upgrade for long waits. But until Adani posts prices, says who can book and confirms where the hotel sits relative to security, treat it as a promising option, not a plan.
