WestJet will pour Tim Hortons "Flight Roast" coffee from Nov. 30, with linked rewards in 2027

A Tim Hortons blend made for WestJet goes onboard Nov. 30, and the two loyalty programs link up in 2027. The release says nothing about lounges.

WestJet is bringing Canada's best-known coffee chain on board. From Nov. 30, 2026, the Calgary-based airline will serve Tim Hortons coffee and tea on its flights. The coffee is a new blend called Flight Roast, made only for WestJet.

The deal goes beyond the cup. In 2027, WestJet Rewards and Tims Rewards members will be able to link their accounts and earn in both programs.

WestJet announced the partnership in a news release dated Sept. 17. Future Travel Experience covered it on Oct. 4.

What is Flight Roast?

Tim Hortons' in-house coffee team built the blend for this partnership. According to the release, it is:

  • 100% Premium Arabica, from what the companies call "carefully selected origins"
  • roasted to a full medium
  • full of notes of toasted nuts, cocoa and red fruit
  • designed to taste its best at 35,000 feet

The release does not explain how the blend was tuned for altitude, or which origins go into it.

Tim Hortons coffee and tea will be served on WestJet flights that already offer drinks. The release does not break this down by cabin or aircraft. It also does not say whether premium cabins get anything different, such as espresso drinks.

The loyalty link, coming in 2027

The second half of the deal is a loyalty tie-up. Once accounts are linked, members will earn points from both programs on eligible Tim Hortons purchases. Linking will also unlock "exclusive offers and promotions."

That is all we know for now. The companies have not shared an earning rate, a start date in 2027 or which purchases will count. WestJet says more details will come closer to the launch.

For WestJet Rewards members, the appeal is clear. Tim Hortons is a daily habit for many Canadians, and this would let a morning double-double add to a WestJet points balance.

Who said what

John Weatherill is WestJet Group's executive vice-president and chief commercial officer. "Some partnerships just make sense," he said, pointing to two welcoming Canadian brands. He said WestJet is excited to bring Tim Hortons and Flight Roast on board.

Hope Bagozzi, chief marketing officer at Tim Hortons, called the launch "just the first sip of something bigger." She said the loyalty link will give Canadians more value on their Tims runs starting next year.

What about the lounge?

The release does not mention lounges, so there is no word on whether Flight Roast will be poured on the ground. WestJet's lounge page makes no mention of Tim Hortons either. It does say the lounge sells products from local firms, such as Fratello Coffee Roasters.

WestJet runs one lounge in our directory, the WestJet Elevation Lounge at Calgary (YYC). It sits on level 2 of the domestic concourse, across from the B gates, and is open 5 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. It rates 4.5 out of 5 on Lounge Frog, with a full bar and two showers. Coffee scores a solid 4 out of 5 in our ratings. Food, drinks, quiet and service all score 5.

WestJet's lounge page says these travelers get in:

  • Business guests on WestJet's Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, including connections on a Business fare
  • WestJet Rewards Platinum and Gold members
  • Silver and Teal members with valid lounge vouchers
  • Delta SkyMiles Diamond, Platinum and Gold Medallion members on a qualifying Canada–US trip with Delta or WestJet
  • Priority Pass, DragonPass (through Mastercard Travel Pass), LOUNGE CLUB and Diners Club members

Others can pay at the door. WestJet lists $59 plus GST for adults with a WestJet boarding pass, or $65 plus GST on other airlines. The lounge is not open to travelers departing for the US.

What we don't know yet

WestJet has not said which cabins get which drinks, whether Flight Roast will reach the Elevation Lounge, or how the 2027 points link will work. We will update this story when it does. For more airport options, see our Calgary airport page.
