This list comes from our own ratings. I took every open lounge in Brazil with at least eight rated metrics, set aside nap suites, spas and restaurants, and sorted from the bottom. Two of the lowest-rated rooms had no photos on the site yet, so they are mentioned below rather than listed. The scores are close: three lounges share 1.9 and two share 2.0, and where scores tie I put the one with more 1s first. A tenth of a point between neighbours is not a real difference.
The pattern is clear enough. Brazil's worst lounges are not at the big hubs, which are well served (see the 10 best airport lounges in Brazil). They are the small international-side rooms at regional airports, built for a handful of daily departures, and the cramped spaces at Rio's Santos Dumont. Several of them are the only lounge you can reach on that side of passport control, which matters more than the score.
São Paulo and Rio: bad rooms with good neighbours
1. Urban Cowork Airport Lounge, Guarulhos T2 (1.4). The lowest score in the country, with 1s for food, coffee, drinks, quiet, power, Wi-Fi, workspace and service. That last pair is awkward for a room sold as a coworking space. It is landside, upstairs near the LATAM check-in area, and the record says complimentary snacks only, with the quiet area costing extra. There is no reason to use it with a Priority Pass or LoungeKey card when Terminal 2 has much better rooms past security. Domestic flyers should go to the Plaza Premium Lounge (T2), rated 4.6, with showers and a full bar. International flyers in T2 have the GOL Premium Lounge (International) at 4.2. Both take Priority Pass and LoungeKey. The full list is on our Guarulhos Priority Pass page.
2. Flybondi Lounge by Global Lounge Network, Galeão T2 (1.6). This room opened this year on the third floor of the South Pier for international flights. It rates 1 for crowding, drinks, power, restrooms, views and workspace. The fix is in the same pier: the GOL Premium Lounge (International) is also on the third floor of the South Pier, rates 4.0, has showers and takes the same two cards. If you have DragonPass, the Plaza Premium Lounge (International) rates 4.4.
6. Advantage VIP Lounge (Airside), Santos Dumont (1.9) and 9. Bradesco Cartões Lounge, Santos Dumont (2.1). Santos Dumont is the one airport here with no good fallback. The Advantage room just past security rates 1 for drinks, restrooms, views and workspace. The Bradesco lounge is for Bradesco premium cardholders only, scores 5 for exclusivity because of that, and still gets 1s for cleanliness, crowding, quiet and workspace. The best-rated lounge at SDU is the Harmony Lounge at 2.4, which takes Priority Pass, LoungeKey and DragonPass. That is a low bar, and with short domestic flights out of a compact terminal I would not plan around any of them.
The regional international rooms
These four are the only international-side lounges at their airports, and they are small. They are low on this list partly because of their size. If your flight leaves from that side, using one of them is still better than sitting at the gate.
3. The Lounge Florianópolis (International), Florianópolis (1.8). Seven 1s: coffee, drinks, power, quiet, restrooms, seating and Wi-Fi. It sits on the second level just after passport control. The domestic The Lounge Florianópolis rates 3.8 with showers, but its record says domestic flights only. International passengers with DragonPass now have the new landside AMAE Lounge, which opens 24 hours. It is too new to have a rating, and you can only use it before security (more on that in our September openings piece).
4. Ambaar Club (International), Porto Alegre (1.9). It is near gates 101 and 102 and rates 1 for drinks, power, restrooms, views and workspace. The Ambaar Club (Domestic) on the mezzanine rates 3.2 and takes Priority Pass and LoungeKey, but it is for domestic and in-transit flights. On an international departure, this is the room you have.
5. Advantage VIP Lounge (International), Curitiba (1.9). It scores 1 for cleanliness, food, Wi-Fi and workspace, and it opens only around scheduled international flights. Curitiba has a better answer than most: the Advantage VIP Lounge (Domestic) rates 2.8, and its record says international passengers with a boarding pass can use it. It sits after the boarding-pass check and before the X-ray, so you would clear security after your visit. Go there first, then go through.
7. Ambaar Club (International), Fortaleza (2.0). It is near gate 3 after passport control and rates 1 for coffee, quiet, restrooms, service and Wi-Fi. Opening times follow the flight schedule. The W Premium Lounge Fortaleza (Domestic) is far better at 4.0, but it serves domestic departures and on our records takes DragonPass only. International flyers have no second airside option.
The two that are easy to avoid
8. VIP Express Club Pier Norte, Brasília (2.0). This is a mezzanine satellite on the North Pier. It rates 1 for coffee, power, seating, service and Wi-Fi, and complimentary alcohol is beer only. The main Aeroportos VIP Club (Domestic) is on the second floor of the same departure area, rates 4.4, has four showers and a full bar, and takes the same three cards. Use Pier Norte only if boarding is close and the main lounge is too far from your gate.
10. Ambaar Club (Landside), Salvador (2.2). It is a 16-seat room before security, open 07:00 to 19:00. It rates 1 for crowding, food and Wi-Fi, which is what you would expect from 16 seats. Clear security instead: the Ambaar Club (Airside) by gates 18 to 23 rates 4.0, opens around the clock and takes the same Priority Pass and LoungeKey cards. The landside room makes sense only for waiting before check-in opens.
Also low, but not on the list
The Advantage VIP Lounge (Landside) at Santos Dumont rates 1.8 and Curitiba's Break Travel Lounge rates 2.0. Both would have made the list but have no photos on the site yet. Break left Priority Pass and LoungeKey in 2023 and now takes DragonPass. Fortaleza's W Premium Arrival Lounge also rates 2.0, but it is a landside room for arriving passengers, so it does not belong in a list of places to wait for a flight.
For the wider picture, see the worst airport lounges in South America and the best in South America. If you are choosing between networks for Brazil, most of the better rooms above take Priority Pass and LoungeKey, while W Premium's lounges lean on DragonPass; our network comparison explains the trade-off.
