Let's be direct about what this comparison is. Bank of America's Alaska Airlines Visa Signature does not unlock any lounge program in our data. Chase's United Club Infinite Card unlocks the United Club network. One of these is a lounge card and one is not, and pretending otherwise would waste your time.

What you get for $95

The Alaska card is cheap, and on lounges it delivers nothing. No Priority Pass, no Alaska lounge access, no partner network. If you hold it, you are holding it for Alaska miles and Alaska perks, and you should budget for lounge entry separately or go without.

What you get for $525

The United Club Infinite costs $430 more per year and buys United Club access. That is a single network, and it only matters if you fly United. At a United hub it is a real benefit. At an airport with no United Club it is a $525 card that opens no lounge either.

The situations where each fits

If you are an Alaska flyer, neither card solves your lounge problem. The United card's clubs are not where your flights leave from, and the Alaska card has no lounge benefit at all. Consider a general travel card with Priority Pass instead, and keep the Alaska card for miles if it earns its $95 on that alone.

If you are a United flyer, the Club Infinite is the one with a lounge in it. The Alaska card is not a competitor here; it is simply a different airline's card.

If you fly both airlines, you are looking at a $620 combined fee for one lounge network that works on half your trips. That is a hard case to make.

Fee gap as the story

The real comparison is $95 against $525. The $430 difference buys United Club access and nothing more. Whether that is worth it comes down to how many United departures you have per year and how many of them leave from a terminal with a United Club.

Check it against real trips

Write down your next three departure airports and airlines. If United appears twice and each terminal has a United Club, the Infinite card justifies itself. If Alaska dominates, neither card is your lounge answer. Confirm guest rules and any entry conditions with Chase before applying. Lounge ratings on this site follow the methodology.
