Lounges

United Club and Polaris are different lounge doors. Check the credential for each.

A United Club membership does not settle Polaris access. Match the lounge to your exact flight and fare before making a detour.

The United name over two lounge doors can hide an important difference. A United Club and a United Polaris lounge are separate products, with separate entry rules. A plan that works for one may leave you outside the other.

United's official access page separates Club credentials from Polaris eligibility. Its current Polaris section lists standard and flexible United Polaris fares and specified partner premium tickets. It is not a general invitation to every passenger holding a United Club membership.

Start with the ticket in your hand

Find the operating airline, cabin, fare and same-day itinerary. Use those details to read the relevant part of the access policy. A description such as business class is less precise than the booking you actually hold.

Do not infer entry from the shape of the seat. A comfortable premium seat and a particular lounge credential are different benefits.

Our United airline page can help with the carrier comparison. The operator's access page should answer the admission question for your flight.

Put the right room on the airport map

At Houston, compare the IAH directory, United Club in Terminal E and United Polaris Lounge. The listings tell you where to investigate; they are not interchangeable reservations.

Check the distance from your gate and the time you can use inside. If you have access to both, the more elaborate room may still be less convenient for a short visit.

A detour is worthwhile when it buys a useful meal, rest or work window. The name of the lounge alone cannot establish that.

Read the partner-flight row carefully

Partner premium tickets can have different location and itinerary limits from United's own eligible fares. Follow the row for your operator and ticket rather than borrowing the rules from another traveler.

A companion's situation also needs a separate check. Sharing a booking or flying in the same cabin does not establish a guest entitlement.

If the policy is unclear, ask United about the exact journey before travel. Keep the answer with the reservation so that the question does not begin again at the entrance.

Have a good Club plan

If Polaris is not part of your benefits, choose a useful United Club without treating it as a consolation prize. A nearby seat, power and food may be what your connection needs.

Our Houston lounge comparison helps you consider the wider airport. The connection boarding-pass guide explains why itinerary details matter across networks.

There is no need to spend a short connection walking between doors to confirm a rule you could have checked at home.

Compare the experience after checking access

Our lounge rating methodology guide helps interpret facilities. The guide to choosing among several lounge benefits helps you decide where to use them.

The order matters. Establish that you can enter, work out how much time you have and then choose the room that best serves the visit. That turns a confusing set of brand names into a simple airport plan.

Keep the access answer with your booking details, especially when the trip involves another airline or a change of fare.
