Lounges
United Club Individual and All Access memberships buy different guest rights.
Check the membership tier before planning a family visit or partner lounge stop. The words United Club do not describe every entitlement.

A lounge membership can feel like a single product until you try to bring someone with you. United's current membership choices make the tier an important part of the airport plan.
United's access page says Individual members can visit United Club locations without guest or Star Alliance partner-lounge rights. All Access members have different guest and partner-lounge benefits. United Club credit-card memberships have their own rules.
Check which product you hold before turning the membership into a plan for the whole family.
Identify the product rather than the brand
Look at the account or membership confirmation and find the tier. If the benefit comes from a card, read the cardmember row instead of using the terms of a separately bought membership.
Similar names can conceal different rights. That matters most when a second traveler is counting on the same benefit.
Our United airline guide and lounge-program comparison help put memberships in context. They do not make one tier interchangeable with another.
Count the people who need entry
List the adults and children traveling together, then match that party to the published allowance. Do not use the word family as a substitute for the age and number limits.
Ask how a person outside the allowance could enter and what that would cost. In some cases, staying together in the terminal may fit the group's needs better.
Our guest-policy guide and family lounge guide cover the broader planning questions.
Keep flight eligibility in the calculation
Guest rights do not replace the need for the required flight and boarding documents. Check the itinerary for the member and companions.
A membership is most useful when it fits the routes you take. Buying a broader tier solely for a trip on which another eligibility rule fails is an expensive way to learn that benefits work together.
If the journey includes an airline partner, use the operator's exact policy rather than assuming an alliance logo is a complete entry credential.
Check a partner lounge separately
The ability to visit partner lounges is one of the differences United describes between tiers. Even where a tier includes that benefit, the partner's location and access conditions still need attention.
Confirm the exact room, flight and guest rule before making a detour. A partner-lounge benefit is useful only if it reaches the airport and travel pattern you actually use.
Our connection access guide explains why boarding-pass details matter at each door.
Compare the tier with real trips
Write down the visits you expect to make during the membership period. Separate solo departures from visits with companions and trips involving partner rooms.
Then compare the live prices and entitlements. A more expensive tier may fit regular group travel, while solo visits may not need the same rights. This is a personal usage calculation, not a universal recommendation.
For Houston, compare IAH's lounge directory, United Club Terminal E and United Club C North. Check which locations fit your gates.
Choose a membership for the people and routes it will serve. Recording the exact tier now can prevent a guest-access surprise later.
