What's new in Delta One: a Wagyu burger, Blanton's bourbon, Missoni kits and an 18-hour meal window

Delta has unveiled what it calls the next era of Delta One, its business class. The airline says it is the largest and most complete redesign of the cabin service in nearly 30 years. It sits on top of more than $1 billion Delta has spent on its fleet.

The new service starts first on Delta One flights across the oceans from Los Angeles (LAX) this fall. The rest of the network follows in early 2027. Some items have their own start dates, listed below.

The new menu

Delta calls the new menu "elevated classics." Main courses include:

• A Delta One Wagyu beef burger with caramelized onions, cheddar and cornichons on a toasted brioche bun.
• Roasted sea bass with tomato tarragon sauce and parsley mashed potatoes.
• Braised lamb with red wine sauce and lyonnaise potatoes.
• Beef short rib with potato gratin.
• A seasonal wild mushroom risotto.
• Macaroni and cheddar with garlic breadcrumbs.
• A chicken Caesar salad.

On flights between the US and Tokyo-Haneda, a grilled salmon dish with ginger soy sauce replaces the sea bass from February 2027.

New mid-flight snacks include a chicken salad croissant, hummus and crudités. The dessert cart adds a sundae with a new chocolate sauce and a doughnut garnish. There is also a dairy-free sorbet, which you can top with Taittinger Champagne. A cheese plate features Cowgirl Creamery and Cypress Grove cheeses from California.

Chef Simon Hulstone refined the dishes and service. Chefs Norio Ueno and Jereme Leung advise on regional meals.

New ways to order

Delta has widened its meal pre-select options. You can now choose:

• Gluten-free meals.
• Lighter dishes, such as salads with added protein.
• A "rest" option that skips the breakfast service. You get coffee and a croissant before landing instead.

You can now pre-select your main course up to 18 hours before departure. That is six hours later than before. Delta says no other US airline lets you order this close to the flight.

Drinks

• Blanton's bourbon: the single-barrel bourbon arrives on December 1. Delta says it is the first airline to serve it.
• Wine: Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson cut 1,600 wines down to 13 wines from 11 wineries. They include Silver Oak from Napa Valley. The list runs from October 2026 to September 2027, with two rotations a year instead of four.
• Champagne: Taittinger is now also served on domestic Delta One flights.
• Sake: DASSAI 45 joins all flights to and from Tokyo-Haneda on November 3.
• Cocktails: a Hugo Spritz and a Paloma, each with an alcohol-free version. They arrive on international routes in March 2027 and domestic routes in April 2027.

Service touches

Before the meal, crew bring a hot towel, warm nuts and your drink to your console. Delta calls this "sip and settle." Crew also crack fresh pepper at the first course and serve sauces on the side. Tea service is redesigned, and more than 60 new pieces of tableware carry the Delta logo.

Sleep and amenities

• Missoni kit: a new "Winter Elsewhere" amenity kit by Missoni starts November 3. It holds Grown Alchemist skincare and a Marvis dental kit.
• Bedding: a better mattress pad, a memory foam pillow, slippers and an eye mask. A second Missoni pillow is added.
• Bombas socks: a limited-edition pair on select domestic flights and select international flights leaving the US.

Screens, Wi-Fi and the airport

Delta says new seatback screens are coming, with better tools to find and save shows. Free Delta Sync Wi-Fi is now on nearly 1,300 aircraft, more than 95% of the fleet.

On the ground, Delta's Porsche car service will grow from 40 to 70 hybrid cars across 15 airports by 2028. Delta One customers can book it through VIP Select.

At LAX, Delta One passengers can use the Delta One Lounge in Terminal 3 and the new Delta One Lounge in Terminal 2. In New York, there is the Delta One Lounge at JFK.

What Delta said

"Delta's fully reimagined experience is rooted in solving real customer needs and desires," said Ranjan Goswami, Delta's Chief Marketing and Product Officer.

"Hospitality has always been Delta's greatest differentiator, and it starts with our people," said Kristen Manion Taylor, Delta's SVP of Brand Experience. Delta says more than 200 flight attendants and staff helped shape the service over 36 trial flights.

What it means for travelers
