easyJet is finally getting Wi-Fi, and it's Starlink. The one thing it won't say yet: the price

easyJet has never had onboard Wi-Fi. Starlink installs on its A320 and A321 jets start in the first half of 2027, but the airline hasn't said if you'll pay.

easyJet has never offered Wi-Fi on its planes. That is about to change. On Oct. 26, 2026, the airline said it will install Starlink, the satellite internet service run by SpaceX, across its A320 and A321 jets.

The work starts in the first half of 2027. easyJet expects to finish by early 2028. The release names its A320, A320neo and A321neo jets.

What easyJet actually announced

The airline calls this the first time it will offer connectivity on board. Here is what its release says customers will be able to do once a plane has Starlink:

  • Stream, game and browse on their own devices, "just as they would on the ground"
  • Check flight status in the easyJet app and on its website
  • Look up local weather, transport and tourism information for their destination

easyJet also says the system "unlocks the potential" for customers to order from the inflight menu from their seats. Note the wording. That is a possibility, not a promised feature.

The scale is big. easyJet says it carried 100 million passengers in 2025. It flies more than 350 aircraft on over 1,200 routes to more than 160 airports in 35 countries.

What easyJet did not say

The release leaves out the question most travelers will ask first: will it cost money?

It does not say whether Wi-Fi will be free, paid, or tied to a membership. It does not give a price. It also does not say which aircraft or routes will get Starlink first. It gives no financial terms for the deal either.

That gap matters. Starlink itself is not the product you buy. The airline decides how to sell it. Some carriers give it away to everyone. Others ask you to sign in to a loyalty account first. easyJet has not picked a lane in public yet.

Our view: a low-cost airline that charges for seats and bags is unlikely to give away a new service it is paying to install. But that is an argument, not a fact. Until easyJet publishes terms, treat price as unknown.

Why this is a bigger deal than it sounds

For years, easyJet passengers on short European hops had no in-flight internet option at all. On a one-hour flight, few people cared. On a longer sun trip of three or four hours, many did.

Lots of airlines have picked Starlink in the past two years. That makes easyJet's move feel less like a leap and more like catching up. Fellow European carrier Aer Lingus, for example, said in March 2026 that its Starlink Wi-Fi is free in every cabin.

We have tracked the trend closely. See our coverage of Lufthansa Group's free Starlink plan, KLM's long-haul Wi-Fi and Qatar Airways' Starlink fleet.

What the CEO said

Kenton Jarvis, easyJet's CEO, framed it as a choice issue. "In an increasingly digital world, staying connected matters more than ever to many of our customers," he said. He added that it means "even greater choice and convenience when you fly with easyJet."

Gwynne Shotwell, president and chief operating officer of SpaceX, said fast, reliable connectivity "from take-off to landing means people can work, stream, or stay in touch without interruption."

What travelers should do now

Nothing changes on your next easyJet flight. Installs do not begin until the first half of 2027, and the full fleet is not due until early 2028.

If you book easyJet for travel in 2027, do not assume your plane will have Wi-Fi. A rollout like this happens one aircraft at a time. Check with easyJet closer to your trip.

We will update this story when easyJet says what Wi-Fi will cost.
