Singapore Airlines has put a full concierge service around its Suites and First Class passengers at Changi Airport. The airline laid out the package in an Oct. 19 article on its SilverKris site. The biggest change inside the lounge comes on Oct. 28, when the First Class SilverKris Lounge adds full table service next to its buffet.
What happens from the curb to the gate
The airline says the service starts when you pull up. Porters take your bags. At the First Class check-in reception, staff hand you a chilled towel. After check-in, an escort walks you to immigration and then to the SilverKris Lounge.
When it is time to board, you may get a free buggy ride to your gate. Singapore Airlines says buggies are subject to availability, so do not count on one at a busy hour.
Security is the part with fine print. Changi screens passengers at the gate, and the dedicated Premium Security Screening Lane covers only gates A1 to A5 in Terminal 3. It runs daily from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Solitaire PPS Club members can use it too. At other gates, the airline says staff give "dedicated assistance" through screening instead.
Who gets the concierge
The concierge covers Suites and First Class passengers who are departing from Singapore, connecting through it or arriving there. "The concierge service provides end-to-end assistance for all Suites and First Class customers departing from, transiting through and arriving in Singapore," said Yeoh Phee Teik, the airline's senior vice president of customer experience.
Two details stand out:
- You can arrive on another airline. The service also covers passengers who fly into Singapore on a different carrier and connect to a Singapore Airlines Suites or First Class flight.
- Arrivals get it too. A concierge meets arriving Suites and First Class passengers, walks them to baggage claim and helps with the rest of their trip once they have their bags.
Transit passengers get help finding the lounge and sorting out their next flight. The airline says Suites and First Class customers can use the SilverKris lounges and The Private Room for up to 24 hours before their flight.
Table service in the First Class lounge from Oct. 28
From Oct. 28, 2026, the First Class SilverKris Lounge will offer full-service dining as well as its existing buffet. Staff trained in mixology and barista skills will handle food and drinks. The Private Room, the airline's most exclusive space, keeps its own personal dining service.
Ooi Chuin Ling, senior vice president of customer services and operations, said the airline built a dedicated training program to give staff the skills for the new service.
The airline listed other food changes across its Changi lounges:
- A refreshed à la carte menu with new dishes and child-friendly meals in the First Class and Business Class SilverKris lounges and the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge
- New bread and live stations in the First Class lounge
- A reorganized buffet in the Business Class lounge, meant to be easier to navigate
- Gluten-free bread and desserts, plus traditional butter toast and eggs, in the First Class lounge and The Private Room
- Bar and barista hours from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. in the First and Business Class lounges, with new cocktails and wellness drinks
What it means for travelers
Most of this is about smoothing the dull parts of a premium trip: bags, lines and long walks to far gates. Changi is huge, and gate screening can mean a queue right before you board. A buggy ride and a fast lane help, but the fast lane works only at five gates and during two time windows. If your flight leaves from another gate or at another hour, you will get an escort, not a shortcut.
The arrival concierge may be the most useful piece, since it covers the end of the trip, when most airlines leave you on your own. The connection rule matters too. If you fly into Singapore on a partner and connect to a Singapore Airlines First Class flight, you should still be looked after.
Singapore Airlines did not say whether any of these services change at other airports, and it did not publish a full menu for the new table service. The airline also did not list any change to who can enter its lounges.
This is the latest in a run of upgrades from the airline. It recently announced 100 new dishes and Christofle tableware and Business Class sleeper suits with new amenity kits.
