The surprise at Schiphol is that the best food is on the Schengen side, and that a Priority Pass lounge is as good as the airline rooms. The food score rewards real meals, fresh and varied, not a snack counter. At Amsterdam Schiphol three open lounges take a 5, and because all three rate 4.6 overall they finish in the order we hold them. The metric comes first, overall breaks ties; our methodology has the rest.
The three at the top
Aspire Lounge 26 takes a 5 for food and 4.6 overall. It is a 200-seat independent lounge on level 3 above Lounge 1 in the Schengen area, with a full bar and no showers. Seating, views, wifi and workspace also score 5.
KLM Crown Lounge 25 matches it, 5 for food and 4.6 overall. It seats 500 on the upper level of Lounge 1 between Piers C and D, has a beer-and-wine bar and two showers, and opens at 04:45. Coffee, drinks and service are 5s as well.
Star Alliance Lounge completes the trio, again 5 and 4.6. It opened in 2019 next door to Aspire 26, seats 150, has a full bar and no showers, and takes a 5 for coffee and service too.
The non-Schengen pair
Aspire Lounge 41, renovated in 2024 between the D and E gates, rates a 4 for food and 4.6 overall, with a self-serve bar and two showers. KLM Crown Lounge 52, the 1,100-seat flagship above Lounge 3 near Pier F, also rates a 4 for food and 4.5 overall; it has a full bar, twenty showers and a rooftop bar. The new Centurion Lounge is not yet fully scored.
What the split tells you
If you are on a Schengen flight, pick by location between the Lounge 1 trio and you will eat well in any of them. If you are flying long-haul from the E or F piers, the food is a notch lower in both rooms, and Aspire 41 is often at capacity.
Getting into Aspire Lounge 26
Anyone with a boarding pass can book or pay at the door for up to three hours. Priority Pass, DragonPass and Aspire Lounges members are admitted per their card's allowance.
