Air France's winter schedule puts its newest first class on a second New York airport. The airline says La Première will fly daily between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and New York-Newark from February 1, 2027. Until now, the suite has served New York only from JFK.

The Newark news sits inside a broader plan for the season that runs from November 2026 to April 2027. Air France says it will operate up to 725 flights a day to nearly 170 destinations in 78 countries. Seat capacity grows most on North American routes, which rise 6% over last winter. The airline also adds seats to South America, Asia and Spain and Portugal. The details come from Air France's winter 2026-2027 announcement, published October 27.

La Première reaches Newark

La Première is Air France's four-suite first class cabin. The airline has been fitting a new version to its Boeing 777-300ER fleet, and it says up to 25 of those jets will carry the cabin this winter. Skytrax named La Première the world's best first class this year, which we covered in September.

According to the airline's plan, La Première flies this winter to New York-JFK, San Francisco, Boston, Miami and Houston, with Newark joining on February 1. That gives Air France first class at both of New York's big international airports. For travelers in New Jersey, it removes the trip across the city to JFK.

The new suite first went daily on the San Francisco route, and our story on that launch explains what the cabin offers. Fares in La Première are high, and award seats through Flying Blue are limited. Air France says these flights can be booked with miles, subject to availability.

Where to wait at Newark and in Paris

Our directory lists no Air France lounge at Newark, and the airline has not said whether La Première passengers there will get a special ground service. SkyTeam lounges listed at Newark include the Delta Sky Club and the SAS Lounge. Check your ticket and terminal before you plan a long visit.

On the way back, the experience is very different. La Première guests in Paris use the airline's private La Première Lounge at Charles de Gaulle, one of the top-rated lounges in our directory. Business class travelers connecting through Terminal 2E can use the large Air France lounges in Hall L and Hall K, which both have showers.

More U.S. flying this winter

Air France says it will serve 23 cities in North America this winter. Las Vegas, which it launched in summer 2026, stays on the schedule all season with three flights a week on the Airbus A350-900. Orlando gets a daily flight at peak times. Boston rises to as many as 10 flights a week during busy periods.

The rest of the North American map is familiar. It includes Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Raleigh-Durham, Seattle and Washington, plus Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Mexico City and Cancun. For summer 2027, the airline has already announced its first flights to Nashville and San Diego.

Brazil, beaches and Africa

South America gets about 3% more seats, mostly to Brazil. Rio de Janeiro goes to two flights a day from December 21. Salvador gains two weekly flights from January 18, 2027, and Fortaleza moves to a daily flight at peak times. Santiago de Chile sees up to 10 flights a week.

Leisure routes grow too. Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic gets three weekly flights from November 30 to May 1, using Boeing 777s. Phuket rises to five flights a week from three, on top of two daily flights to Bangkok. The Maldives keeps two weekly flights until early March.

In Africa, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar move to daily service, up from five flights a week last winter. Conakry gets a daily A350-900.

Europe and Wi-Fi

Closer to home, Air France keeps two daily flights from Charles de Gaulle to London Gatwick, a route it started in summer 2026, alongside six daily flights to Heathrow. Porto gets two daily flights. Its low-cost arm, Transavia France, flies from Paris-Orly.

The airline also gave an update on free Wi-Fi. Air France says high-speed Wi-Fi is now on 70% of its fleet, including regional jets. It expects 80% by the end of the year and a fully equipped fleet in 2027.

What it means for travelers

For most U.S. flyers, the biggest change is choice. Newark gains a true first class option to Paris in February, and the airline lists Boston, Miami and Houston among its La Première routes this winter. If you want to try the cabin on points, watch Flying Blue for award space early, since four suites per flight do not go far.

Leisure travelers get more flights to Brazil, Thailand and East Africa via Paris. Air France has not published fares for the new frequencies, so check its schedule for your dates before you book.
