Priority Pass members connecting through Doha have their lounges back. All three Al Maha lounges at Hamad International Airport are listed again on Priority Pass's Doha page, months after they left the program in May.
The return was first flagged by Head for Points on Oct. 17, after a reader spotted it. Neither Priority Pass nor the airport has said publicly when access came back, so it may have been quietly restored before mid-October.
What Changed
In early May, Priority Pass's website showed that the three Al Maha lounges would leave the program on May 15, Head for Points reported at the time. The lounges were:
- Al Maha Lounge (Southeast)
- Al Maha Lounge (North/Orchard)
- Al Maha Lounge (South Node)
Today, Priority Pass lists all three again in Hamad's Main Terminal, each showing hours of 00:00 to 23:59. That matters at Doha, where many of the busiest connecting banks run overnight.
Neither side gave a reason for the exit or the return. Head for Points editor Rob Burgess guessed the dispute was about money, noting that Priority Pass has a reputation for paying lounges less than other networks. He also said he did not know how long the lounges had been back.
Why It Matters
Hamad is the hub for Qatar Airways and one of the world's busiest transfer airports. Its best lounges are for business and first class passengers and oneworld elite members. For a traveler in economy with no airline status, the Al Maha lounges are the main way in with a credit card.
That includes many US cardholders. Priority Pass membership comes with cards such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the American Express Platinum and the Capital One Venture X. For part of 2026, Priority Pass's own listings showed no lounge for them at Doha.
Lounge Frog's own listing for the Al Maha Lounge (South) rates it 3.7 out of 5 across 14 measures, with a self-serve bar and four showers.
Not Just Lounges
Priority Pass's Doha page also lists other "experiences":
- Sleepover pods at the North Node near gates C30 and C40, and at the South Node
- Be Relax spas in Concourses A, C and D/E
These stayed available while the lounges were out, Head for Points noted in May. But not every card's Priority Pass includes them. Many US cards, including all American Express cards, offer lounge-only memberships. Check your app before you count on a nap pod. Read the last credit cards that still include Priority Pass restaurant credits for how these extras have been cut back.
Tips for Doha Connections
- Check the app before you fly. Priority Pass listings change, and this one changed twice in five months.
- Bring the digital card. A photo of your card is not a valid backup.
- Mind the guest rules. Your card, not the lounge, sets how many guests you can bring. Australian Amex Platinum, for example, cut Priority Pass for additional cardholders on Oct. 1.
- Long layover? A lounge is not a bed. Read our guide to booking an airport room in Doha.
The Bigger Picture
Lounges leaving and rejoining Priority Pass is not new, and the network keeps shifting. Our analysis found that only 21 of Lounge Frog's 100 top-rated lounges take Priority Pass. Doha's return is a win for members, but it is also a reminder that access can disappear on short notice.
