Pick an alliance, and you pick your lounges. So we asked a simple question of Lounge Frog's own data. Of the 100 top-rated lounges in our directory, how many can you enter with alliance status or an alliance premium ticket?
The answer is not close. oneworld lounge access opens 23 of the top 100. Star Alliance opens 17. SkyTeam opens just 10.
How we counted
We used the Lounge Frog Top 100 as it stood on Oct. 22, 2026. Every lounge on it scores between 4.7 and 5 out of 5. We then checked which access programs each lounge lists in our directory. A lounge counts for an alliance when it lists that alliance's lounge access, the route that elite members and premium cabin flyers of partner airlines use.
A script did the counting, so every number below comes straight from the data. Your own entry still depends on your ticket, your tier and the airline you fly that day. Always check the lounge page before you go.
The scoreboard
| Network | Top 100 lounges | Average score |
|---|---|---|
| oneworld | 23 | 4.78 |
| Star Alliance | 17 | 4.81 |
| SkyTeam | 10 | 4.79 |
oneworld wins on reach. Star Alliance wins on average score, but only by a few hundredths. The real gap is in the count. A oneworld Emerald member has more than twice as many top lounges to choose from as a SkyTeam Elite Plus member.
Where oneworld shines
oneworld's 23 lounges sit at 16 airports. Eight of those airports are in the US: Dallas-Fort Worth, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago O'Hare, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Seattle and San Francisco.
Its best entry is American's Flagship Lounge in Miami, at 4.9. British Airways' Club Lounge (South) at Gatwick also scores 4.9. So do two Qantas lounges in Melbourne, the domestic Business Lounge and the International First Lounge.
Star Alliance: fewer, but strong
Star Alliance's 17 lounges are spread over 15 airports. They include Auckland, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Rome, São Paulo, Zurich and Calgary.
The top Star pick in our data is ITA Airways' Piazza di Spagna Lounge in Rome, at 4.9. Turkish Airlines' business lounge in Istanbul also scores 4.9. Two United Clubs make the cut at 4.9 too: Newark's C Mezzanine club and Washington Dulles' D club.
SkyTeam: a short list with a great top
SkyTeam has only 10 of the top 100, at 9 airports. But its best is very good. The Air France Lounge in Paris 2E, Hall L scores 4.9 and ranks second on the whole list. Delta's Sky Club in Honolulu and the SkyTeam Lounge in Frankfurt also hit 4.9.
The rest of SkyTeam's list leans on Delta Sky Clubs in the US, at airports such as Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Seattle and San Francisco.
The lounges no alliance opens
Eleven of the top 100 list no access program at all. You get in with the right ticket, not with a card or a partner status. This group includes the very top of the list.
The only perfect 5 is Asiana's Business Suite Lounge (East) in Seoul. The list also holds Lufthansa's two First Class lounges in Munich, three ANA Suite Lounges in Tokyo, Air France's La Première lounge in Paris, the SWISS First Lounge in Zurich, Casa BB in São Paulo and Delta One Lounges at New York JFK and Seattle.
What about cards?
Card lounges hold their own. Priority Pass is listed at 21 of the top 100, as we reported earlier. Amex's Centurion network has 5, led by Dallas-Fort Worth. Chase Sapphire Lounges have 3, and Capital One Lounges have 3.
What it means for you
If lounges drive your loyalty, oneworld gives you the most top-rated rooms, and the most in the US. Star Alliance gives you a strong spread across Europe and the Pacific. SkyTeam is the thinnest, though its Paris flagship is among the best anywhere.
And if you want the very best, no status will get you there. You need a first or business class ticket on the right airline.
