How Manchester's terminals shape the choice

Manchester's lounge scene has shifted almost entirely into Terminal 2. The long-running expansion gave the terminal a new pier, and in 2026 it gained three new lounges in a single summer, which we covered in this story. Terminal 3 is now a Ryanair-only building with two lounges that are open only to Ryanair passengers. There is no airside link between the terminals.

Inside Terminal 2 the layout matters. The two Escape-run rooms sit together on the upper departure level at the top of the escalators. The Aspire lounges are out toward the C and D gate piers, and the Emirates Lounge is in the Pier 2 extension with its own boarding gates. Every lounge here closes in the evening, so late departures may find nothing open. For the national ranking, see our best lounges in the UK.

1. The Executive by Escape Lounges

The Executive by Escape Lounges opened in July 2026 to replace the 1903 Lounge and leads the airport at 4.5. It is on the upper departure level of Terminal 2: turn right at the top of the escalators and the entrance is just before the Escape Lounge. It holds 300, has a full bar and its own restrooms, and scored five on cleanliness, coffee, drinks, power, restrooms, seating, service, views, Wi-Fi and workspace. A seated restaurant called The Boll is due later in 2026 at extra cost. Premium passengers on Virgin Atlantic, Qatar Airways, Etihad, Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific get in through their airlines. Everyone else pays, from about 57 pounds when booked ahead. Priority Pass and DragonPass are not accepted. Doors open at 03:00 and close at 20:45.

2. Aspire Lounge (D Gates)

The new 300-seat Aspire Lounge (D Gates) opened in September 2026 and rates 4.1. From security, go through duty free and bear left toward the D gates; it is next to the Great Northern Food Market. It is open 04:00 to 23:00, closing half an hour earlier from November to March. Anyone can book from about 47 pounds, and Priority Pass and DragonPass members must reserve in advance. Stays are capped at three hours. Coffee, drinks, quiet, restrooms, seating, service, Wi-Fi and workspace scored five. Views scored one, because there are none.

3. Emirates Lounge

The Emirates Lounge also rates 4.1 and is the one room here with direct boarding. It sits in the Pier 2 extension and feeds Emirates aircraft at gates C4, C6, C8 and C10. It opened in 2026 as a 10 million pound build with 162 seats, craft cocktails and shower suites, and opens four hours before each Emirates departure. Emirates First and Business passengers and Skywards Platinum and Gold members get in. Others may buy access on arrival if there is space. Cleanliness and drinks scored five. Read more about the new design in our Emirates lounge rollout story.

4. Escape Lounge (Terminal 2)

The original Escape Lounge in Terminal 2 opened in 2021 and rates 4.1. It is on the upper departure level just past The Executive, with a full bar and two showers. Walk-in entry is 55 pounds and pre-booking starts at about 40. Priority Pass, LoungeKey and DragonPass holders can bring up to three guests when there is room, and entry is allowed up to three hours before departure. British Airways runs a private area inside for its eligible passengers. Cleanliness, restrooms, Wi-Fi and workspace scored five. It is open 03:00 to 20:30.

5. Escape Lounge (Terminal 3)

The Terminal 3 Escape Lounge rates 3.6 and is only for Ryanair passengers, since that is the terminal's only airline. Follow the Premium Lounges signs, turn left out of duty free and go up one level. It is small at 80 seats, with runway views and a full bar. Walk-in costs 39 pounds and pre-booking from about 30. The three card networks work with up to three guests. Drinks, food, power and restrooms scored five, while cleanliness, coffee and seating scored three. It is open 04:00 to 20:15.

6. Aspire Lounge (C Gates)

The older Aspire Lounge (C Gates) rates 2.8 and is the contract lounge for Star Alliance carriers at Manchester. It is down a level inside the C pier and has no restrooms of its own. It serves beer and wine only. Priority Pass and DragonPass need a reservation, and paid entry runs from about 46 pounds. Views scored four, but crowding, restrooms and workspace scored two. With the D gates Aspire now open, choose that one unless your airline sends you here.

Where to look next

The Terminal 3 Aspire Lounge rates 2.9 but has no photo on file, so it was left out. Our rankings use ratings across fourteen metrics, explained on the methodology page. The generated page at the MAN top five updates as reviews arrive, and the airport page lists every lounge in both terminals.
