Delta is planning its biggest summer ever at Los Angeles International. At the 2027 peak, the airline says it and its partners will run more than 200 daily departures to nearly 70 destinations, according to Delta's announcement on Sept. 18.
New routes and extra flights
Two routes are new. Monterey starts Dec. 19, 2026, twice daily on a Delta Connection Embraer 175, and Philadelphia follows on June 7, 2027, once a day on an Airbus A321neo.
Seven existing routes add frequencies in spring and summer 2027:
- Raleigh-Durham: two daily from April 12
- Boston: five daily from May 6
- San Diego: five daily from June 7
- Cincinnati, Houston (IAH) and San Antonio: two, three and three daily from July 11
- Seattle: eight daily from July 11
The lounges you can use today
Flying Delta out of LAX right now gets you three options. There's the Delta Sky Club in Terminal 3, the original Delta One Lounge, and the second Delta One Lounge in Terminal 2, whose first phase is already open. Delta says LAX is the first airport in its network with two Delta One Lounges.
The Delta One Lounges are for Delta One passengers, who at LAX also get a dedicated check-in area and private TSA screening. Sky Club entry depends on your ticket, status or card. Our Delta Sky Club page lists the current rules.
What's still coming
An 11,000-square-foot Sky Club in Terminal 2 is due in 2027. When the second phase of the T2 Delta One Lounge wraps up in 2028, Delta expects to have four lounges across Terminals 2 and 3, totaling more than 60,000 square feet and over 1,000 seats. That would nearly double its Delta One Lounge space at the airport.
Our take
The schedule grows next summer, but the new T2 Sky Club isn't due until sometime in 2027. Until it opens, expect the T3 Club to be the pressure point at busy times, so plan accordingly if you're connecting through LAX on a peak afternoon.
