Toronto Pearson (YYZ) says it is opening more than 30 new shops, restaurants and lounges through 2026. The airport announced the list on Sept. 9. It calls the openings "30+ new reasons to arrive early."
For Lounge Frog readers, one item on that list matters most: a new Plaza Premium Lounge. The release mentions it, but says almost nothing else about it.
What's opening
Pearson says the new tenants mix Canadian-owned, Toronto-founded and locally inspired brands with names travelers will know from abroad. The airport ties the openings to LIFT, its Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals program.
Places to eat and drink
- Roywoods, a Toronto Caribbean restaurant, in its first airport location
- Mary Brown's Chicken, also a first for the airport
- Ladurée, the French pastry and macaron maker
- OEB Kitchen + Bar, Pret A Manger and Brasa Peruvian Kitchen
- Boulevard Pizza, Libretto Slice Shop and KINTON RAMEN
- Real Fruit Bubble Tea and Dillon's
Shops
- Muskoka Supply Co., with clothing and gifts inspired by Ontario cottage country
- Greetings from Toronto, with local souvenirs and gifts
- CHANEL, a fragrance and beauty boutique
- Aura Beauty, a store of Canadian skincare, wellness and personal care brands
Rest and lounges
- Wait N' Rest, which offers private rooms
- A new Plaza Premium Lounge
The release does not say which terminal each opening is in. It gives no opening dates beyond "throughout 2026," so some may already be open and others may still be months away.
Who said what
Deborah Flint, Toronto Pearson's chief executive, said the airport "is where journeys begin, connections are made and Canada comes to life." She said the wider choice of shops and food reflects Canada's diversity.
Gregg Paradies, chief executive of Paradies Lagardère, spoke about the Muskoka Supply Co. and Greetings from Toronto stores. He framed them as an early step in a new vision for the airport. Steve Johnson, president and CEO for North America at Avolta, said the partnership puts the traveler at the center of every concept. David Isaias, co-owner of Roywoods, called the Pearson opening "an exciting milestone" for the brand.
The new Plaza Premium Lounge: what we know
Very little. The release names the lounge but gives no terminal, no gate, no size and no opening date. It also does not say which access programs it will take. Every other Plaza Premium lounge at Pearson in our data takes Priority Pass, DragonPass and LoungeKey. That is a fair guess for the new one, but it is not confirmed.
The timing is interesting. Pearson recently lost one of its best independent lounges. The Plaza Premium Lounge (International) in Terminal 1 sat across from gate E77 and rated 4.7 on Lounge Frog. Our records show it closed in late December 2025. Prince of Travel reports that Air Canada is now expanding its Signature Suite into that space. The suite itself closed on Sept. 30 for the work. Our story on the Signature Suite closure explains where its guests can wait for now.
That leaves Priority Pass members flying internationally from Terminal 1 without an independent lounge on our map. A new Plaza Premium Lounge in that part of the airport would fill a clear gap. But the release does not say that is the plan.
Lounges at Toronto Pearson today
Lounge Frog lists 12 open lounges across Pearson's two terminals, plus the two closed ones above.
Terminal 1 (Air Canada and Star Alliance)

- Plaza Premium Lounge (US Transborder): rated 3.9, same programs.
Terminal 3 (WestJet, oneworld, SkyTeam and others)
- Plaza Premium Lounge (T3 International): rated 4.7, the highest at the airport. It is upstairs from gate C32 and is also Cathay Pacific's lounge in Toronto.
- British Airways Galleries Lounge: rated 4.6, for British Airways and oneworld travelers.
- American Airlines Admirals Club: rated 4.0.
- Plaza Premium Lounge (T3 Domestic): rated 3.7, between gates B22 and B24.

- Plaza Premium Lounge (T3 US Transborder): rated 2.5.
Pearson still has no bank-branded lounge like the Aspire Amex Lounges in Montreal and Calgary. See our story on the new Aspire Amex Lounge in Calgary.
What we don't know yet
The airport has not said where the new Plaza Premium Lounge will be, when it opens, how big it is or who can get in. It also has not said where Wait N' Rest's private rooms will be, or how they are priced. We will update this story, and our Toronto Pearson page, when we learn more.
