Newark's three terminals are separate buildings with separate security, joined only by the AirTrain. Terminal C is United's hub and holds the airport's best spaces. Terminal B is a ring of three satellites, each with its own checkpoint, where the foreign carriers keep their lounges. Terminal A opened in 2023 and is the newest building, but its lounges are mid-table. That layout means you will almost never detour between terminals for a lounge at Newark. Work out which checkpoint your gate sits behind and choose from there.
Ratings are Lounge Frog overall scores out of 5. Only lounges with a photo in our directory are ranked, which cuts this list short, as explained at the end.
1. United Polaris Lounge
The United Polaris Lounge scores 4.6 and is the best lounge at Newark that we can show you. It is in Terminal C between gates C102 and C120, at the entrance to the C3 pier, up the escalator from the concourse. Inside are ten showers, a craft cocktail bar and about 300 seats. Hours are 5 in the morning to 10 at night. Only Polaris business passengers and Star Alliance long-haul business and first class passengers get in, and there are no guests. A United Club membership does not qualify.
2. Lufthansa Lounge
The Lufthansa Lounge scores 4.4 after a 2024 remodel. It is in the B3 satellite near gate B60, behind the B3 checkpoint, with a full bar, a separate First Class dining section and about 165 seats. There are no showers. Hours are 2:15 in the afternoon to 9:30 at night, built around the evening flights to Germany. Business class passengers enter without guests, while Star Alliance Gold, Senator and HON Circle members can bring one. It is not in Priority Pass, and Amex Platinum access ended on October 1, 2026.
3. United Club (A)
The United Club (A) scores 4.2 and is the largest lounge on this list at about 350 seats. It sits on the mezzanine of the Terminal A rotunda, across from gate A27, with a full bar but no showers. Hours are 5 in the morning to 10 at night. United Club members and Star Alliance Gold travelers get in with a same-day ticket, and one-time passes cost $59. Air Canada customers and Aeroplan elites use it as their Maple Leaf Lounge, with an Air Canada desk inside.
4. Delta Sky Club
The Delta Sky Club scores 3.8 and is a compact room of about 120 seats on the Terminal A mezzanine near gate A8. It has a full bar and no showers, and it closes early: 8:15 in the evening on most days and 6:30 on Saturdays. Members and eligible cardholders bring two guests at $50 each, and Amex Platinum holders get 10 visits a year. Reviewers like the coffee and the service more than the food.
5. SAS Lounge
The SAS Lounge scores 3.0 and sits next to the Lufthansa Lounge in the B3 satellite near gate B60. It is small, with about 80 seats, beer and wine only and no showers. Hours are 7 in the morning to 11 at night, which makes it useful for SkyTeam elites with a long wait. SAS Business and SkyTeam business passengers enter without guests, and EuroBonus Gold and Diamond members can bring one. It is not a Priority Pass lounge.
Lounges that missed the list, and why
Newark's real number one is the United Club (C, mezzanine), which scores 4.9 and is the only United Club here with showers. We left it out because it has no photo yet. Three other lounges were dropped for the same reason: the Admirals Club in Terminal A at 3.8, the United Club (C, west) at 3.3 and Art & Lounge in Terminal B at 2.8. LOUNGE&CO, La Compagnie's room in the B2 satellite, has a photo but scores 2.4 and admits only that airline's passengers. The British Airways Lounge closed on July 31, 2026 for a rebuild and is due back in summer 2027. The Terminal A Centurion Lounge is still not open, and Amex now says 2027.
